also try factory made strings. some string makers don't build them to the exact tolerances the bow was made for, and it really slows them down. I get 290 out of a matthews mission x3 that is advertised at 310. 29" draw. Cant remember what my arrow weight is, but i think my bow would do 310 ibo with 350 grain arrow at 30 inches. i'm careful to only use mathews strings. i'm not a bow guru, but that's just some info someone passed on to me, and it seems to work.

since when was the forrest service allowed to be the department of transportation? You know what, we are either gonna get organized and united and get some laws passed, or, our kids won't be allowed to hunt. Bottom line.

Anything i can do to help stop this from passing, please let me know. I like to use corn from time to time because i don't have time or money to take 3 weeks off work to glass, spot and stalk. I wish i did, but i have 3 kids that need their daddy. So, a pile of corn means i can have a legit whitetail or turkey hunting experience each season. If i can get an animal coming in and on camera, i can hunt a morning or afternoon here and there and hopefully get a shot. Right now in my life, it almost like no bait, no hunt. Hopefully it wont always be this way. I'd like to say one day i could afford to take 3 weeks off work and get it done that way, but till then, a corn pile it is. I don't have a pile of scientific facts i've collected over 52 years of study and careful observation to present to the decision makers, but i'll do what i can.

Even if a law is passed, I don't think AZ hunters will ever stop hunting over salt. Imagine being a public prosecutor trying to make a case against someone shooting a deer over a salt lick. If they have to prove that the hunter actually put the salt there, they are hamstrung. If they had to prove intent by somehow showing they knew an established salt lick was there, they are hamstrung. It's a totally un-enforceable law. How far from the salt do you have to be? Is every trail that goes near a salt lick illegal? If you've ever had any encounters with the local justice, you know how overwhelmed they are by DUI repeats, domestic fights and B.S. IMO, they don't have the bandwidth to handle "Joe shot a deer that might be on a trial to a spot where Larry dumped some salt". They are up to their eyeballs in 2nd and 3rd offense shoplifters, driving without a license, stealing out of the cash drawer at Wendy's or little league fund. If this does pass, it will by symbolic at best - and some people will be made examples of, but it won't stop hunters from using salt, alphalpha, corn or store-bought attracants. It will, however create a rift between normally law abiding hunters and G&F officers trying to enforce a law they don't even believe in. don't kid yourself. in arkansas a few years back, somebody got mad at a hunter, and put corn under his tree stand, which is illegal. then they called dnr and reported the dude hunting over bait. DNR showed with leafblowers and cleared the area and found one, yes, ONE kernel of corn, and threw the guy in jail, took his truck and his gun. True story.

could that be construed in a court of law as interfering with a legal hunt? I mean, i think a good lawyer could make that work?

i got a big tv i want to get rid of. it's a jvc and i dont' know much about it except it's heavy. Would be a great tv for your hunting cabin up north. It has a big flat screen, though it's not one of those skinny ones. make me an offer,. Would like to trade it for a tree stand, pop up blind, a good pair of boots, a decent fishing rod (not walmart), or a ranch in montana. will post pics later.
