it's been done a few times in star valley. last i read where someone won, they argued that the city prosecutor could not also be a witness against you, as this was a conflict of interest. court ruled that was true, and threw it out. i'm not sure what or if the city has changed on that, but now the prosecutor cannot be a witness against you.

There's a lot of days when i'd welcome the company. I love hunting, and I want to see others succeed as well as me. That said, i think it's rude and uncalled for to shoot an animal, or stalk an animal that someone else is on.

after my first missions trip to africa, i now eat anything. Someone's throwing some fries away at burger king, and i'm like, hey, can i have that? dragging mre's half way around the world will be a chore. I would brave the local fare and give the mre's to the kids. You'll lose weight, trust me. But they do have coke in a bottle. i'd worry more about malaria and preaching Jesus. Good luck.

i took my wife hunting once....we were puddle jumping ducks. we finally hit a tank with a duck on it, and i jumped him, raised my shotgun, and my wife started crying and begging me not to shoot it. It flew 20 feet right over my head as i lowered my shotgun and asked why not. She said, cuz it is all by itself, and i don't want you to kill it. Last time she ever went hunting with me. That said, i have been putting her in for elk lately, so she's gonna go if i have to drag her out there, lol. Getting her out of the mall and into the woods has been a real chore for me, but i'm still working on it. Don't get me wrong, i completely understand guys who leave their wives at home for a little guy time. I have no prob with that at all. But sometimes i'd like to have her along, but she won't stand for it. My sister, however, still has the biggest buck in out immediate family.

Don't kid yourself, you can't consistently take big eastern whitetails w/out knowing your stuff. Don't be fooled by high fence-game feeder bucks on cheesy tv shows, there's guys back east that know how to get it done w/out taking the easy route. i may be barbequed for saying it, but there is no difference in hunting eastern whitetails and coues. The only difference is population. There's more deer to choose from back there. Other than that, big boys are hard to kill no matter where you are.

Not everyone here is well heeled. Some of us just get by. I drive a beat up old Dodge, because I can't afford a new truck. I can not put in for alot of hunts, because I can't afford to do so. I work very hard at my 40 hour job, and unfortunately, being on call, I cannot work 2 jobs. Although I have worked 2 jobs, and many 16 hour days in the past, Been there, done that. The case in point of this topic, is that we should not have to go on a diet of macoroni and cheese, or Ramen noodles, simply to fatten the coffers of a State or Federal agency, with our hard earned money. well said!

Gentlemen Only Ladies Forbidden its pretty much the most alpha sport other than hunting. Really, cuz i thought for sure it meant Gay Old Lazy Farts. Really, though, i tried it once or twice. I spent the whole time trying to figure out how to smuggle a fishing rod to the water traps. And the amount of waterfowl on the course was enough to drive a hunting fool mad. Lol... in all seriousness, have fun! Tell Jimmy i said "hey".... I wonder if he knows who i am...?

i'm not so upset at the g&f guys in the field doing the work. kinda thought they were on our side anyways. somebody's gotta count deer and chase poachers. I'm sure they are not the ones implementing monetary policy. but, there's somebody...somewhere, who's takin' my bacon....

You must make a lot more money than i do, Increasingly hunting out of state becomes a less expensive and more viable and successful option. As i have done the math before on a different thread, Az has some of the most expensive and worst hunting in the US. It's not THE most expensive, but it's definitely creeping up there, and i would say that it is becoming the worst rather quickly. Some good things to say, are, we have a wider variety of big game than many states, so i do take that into consideration. And we have a good deal of public land, that's always a plus. Consider many states have an annual deer harvest of more animals than there are deer in AZ. Then consider the price of the license and tag.... Pretty soon it will be cheaper to buy a side of beef than it will be to fill my freezer with game meat. I understand there is no price too high for wealthy trophy hunters, but when you're just an average joe like me trying to put some quality meat in the freezer....well....this state has gotten out of hand.
