We also have this tag this year. Just returned form our last scout trip today for our first tag in 36c. Spent all day in there and did not see anyone else and only one BP at the 286/212 rd, last few trips BP was everywhere. I am also embarrassed to say the trash at the campsites from what I would say were campers/hunters from the first WT hunt last weekend was bad. Not as bad as I've seen on the rim from the "non hunting a holes" but bad enough, I cant blame the ranchers for saying keep out. Also saw the new orange posted no entry signs that we didn't see last month, and they were oddly placed I guess due to easements like you said. Had me second guessing a few times if I was in correct area. I really like the dead man pass area "south" of the ranch. I'm getting to old, or maybe just to lazy lol, to climb into those steep areas like Shaffer & Brown Canyons below the peak. With the access so limited due to the ranches and layout of the unit as whole I am very curious to see how dense the hunters will be, I feel like we are all goona be in one of three areas. Good luck to all, and pick up your trash.

Fantastic! Congratulations! Sad we all have to wait 20 - 30 years for these hunts. Someday, someday....

Congrats to the young huntress. Great story thank you for sharing. These "western moments" make great memories and campfire stories on future trips.

I have a nephew 22rs old who's looking for an entry level job and having a hard time getting so much as an interview. He's very "green" but has a reliable car and willing to show up everyday work and learn. Last job was warehouse work. If any one is willing to provide any leads for an employer looking for a FNG , we would appreciate it. Lives in Glendale and willing to commute across town if necessary. Thanks

I also have this on the craglist, and I'm getting really low offers... What's your opinion, have I priced this way to high? Bow is in excellent shape used only one season, has all gear ready to shoot. I figured great archery starter kit.

I do not post much , However this lost gun issue has become more frequent. With all due respect , how the f**k do you leave or lose a rifle while hunting... Seriously, please explain why he left it leaning on a fence?? Did he go take a sh*t and not remember he was hunting and had a rifle? Or maybe was carrying a downed animal? There must be some logical reason but i cant image what it is... Please enlighten my dumb butt.

Good luck! Just got back for a few days... will be back up there end of week. In area of unit we were in, they were bulging late evenings and around 4- 8am. Was able to locate and work two small herds each morning but only once in the evening. I'm hoping this not considered fully going yet cuz I need them just a little dumber with that one track mind 😁 I came dang close Sat morning. He was in bow range but didn't get a shot of... shoulda, woulda, coulda, is haunting my thoughts and dreams now. I cant wait to get back it chasing them sounds.... ya hear it !? wait, was that a hunter or an elk? 🤣
-
Oh is that all? What was I thinking?
-
Okay, Who's ready? Under two weeks until go time! I've been shooting almost every morning for two months, and shooting good groups out to 65 yds. (please baby Jesus help me not take a shot further than 65 yds.) Also, the "will I get a shot opportunity" nerves are setting in. I haven't had a chance to scout this year but I know the unit very good and have my plan A, B , C well at hand. I image its a swamp up there and I pray the rut is in full swing next cpl of weeks with young dumb bulls running around, cuz the first legal one inside 60 yards is a dead Elk . Good luck to you all!

Truth! Against my better judgement parents went up anyway... Sent them this and they probably will stop by Red Rabbit. Always enjoy your photos!
