Two Gun, My daughters shot Darton Cheroke's when the were 8- 10. The draw weight is adjustable from 35 to 45 lbs, and the draw length is 24 o 26 inches. They have been siting in my closet for years and I would let them go cheap if your interested. Both bows are like new. They have bodoodle rests and carbon arrows also. TJ

Will, getting PAID to drink Coffee with Baileys AND surf CWT?!! That's just not fair. But just to show I hold no hard feelings, stop by deer camp and try Laura's homemade Baileys. I'll save you some. Look for for white F350 with the CWT sticker on it! If I'm not there, check the cooler! TJ

Good job Jori! That's a beautiful buck. You could hunt a lifetime and never even see one like that! You had good guides. I remember Joe from Laquachi when it was an active archery club, and as I recall, the entire Canizales clan are dedicated and expert hunters.

Hey Will, at least I'm getting paid to surf CWT! My wife makes home made Baileys and hands it out to all the nieghbors at Christmas. That's why I have to work on Christmas, to pay for all that Baileys! Don't worry about me though, after tommorrow I have 11 days off. I'll be heading down to 36 to hopefully fill my 06 archery deer tag and work on my 07. Cheers!

Find the Deer (now with awnser)
Tucson John replied to azcouesandelk's topic in Coues Deer Hunting in Arizona
It looks like legs sticking out from under the mesquite tree on the left, that is the tree is on the left, the deer legs are on the right side of the tree. The other deer already used the trap door! -
You guys were my neighbors! We lived at Houghton and Fort Lowell. I went to Palo Verde and then Sahuaro and graduated in 1971. My brothers and I used to hunt Deer, Javelina, Coyote, Bobcat, Mountain Lion, Quail, Dove, ect, right out our back door. I sure miss Tucson the way it used to be! Work, and the need to support my family forced me to move to Tempe, but my heart is still, and will always be in Tucson. Now let me relate an interesting story. My wife works for Quest. her office is at 48th St. and Thomas in Scottsdale. Last fall she called me at work and she was all excited. While she was on a conference call, and looking out the window of her office to a small wash with an elementary school playgroung on the other side of the wash, a mature male Mountain Lion walked by her window. The big cat was within 10 yards of her and she definately knew exactly what it was. She wanted to know what she should do because she was concerned for the children at the school. I told her to call Fish and Game, and I gave her the number. She did and the gal she talked to did not believe her. This F&G person kept asking my wife to describe the animal. After she had described it as large, tan, long tail, ect: she finally asked this gal if SHE knew what a Mountain Lion looks like, when she said she did, Laura told her, well that's what I saw! Anyway,as far I know, this was never investgated by F&G. But it shows that these big cats can be anywhere. I've been hunting in Arizona all my life and I've only seen one Mountain Lion, and it was so steathy, I finally understood why I had never seen another one. I'll bet I've been close to a big cat many times, and never even knew it! TJ

Yup! That's the reason for everyone of my misses, all 6457 of them!

There was an Ebay acuction last week for JJ trailers. I called the guy (in Mesa) and he sounded pretty ligit. The auction ended with the reserve not met at $3500. The "buy it now price was $48?? something. What's the price going through Levi? I like these trailers but I think they are overpriced.

This one I'm proud of because I worked so hard for it. I lost 22 lbs in 10 day and had compete with a Griz for my rack, he ate most of the cape so it wasn't salvageable. TJ -
Finally got my sticker on. Thanks Amamda for the sticker, and your help!

That IS a nice looking truck Casey! You're to broke to buy Capstick but you can afford a nice truck? You crack me up! TJ

Tucson John replied to Kilimanjaro's topic in Miscellaneous Items related to Coues Deer
Dang! Poor feller, I'd like to hear his story. They will probably call him bear haircut now. TJ -
Bill, I had no idea that we lost Capstick. I have read everything he ever wrote I think, the latest being "Return to Silent Places". Nobody (except maybe you Bill) IMHO wrote as REAL as Peter, he could really make you feel like you were there. If you guys havn't read Capstick I would stronly suggest you check it out. TJ

Public Lands Sell-off
Tucson John replied to CouesWhitetail's topic in Miscellaneous Items related to Coues Deer
This is what I sent to McCain and Kyle. Please draft something similar, or copy/paste this in a message to them. The Coues link and contact link is below. Come on guys it only takes a few minutes and once our hunting land is gone, there is no getting it back. JO http://www.coueswhitetail.com/forums/index...t=0entry25864 http://www.senate.gov/general/contact_info...fm.cfm?State=AZ "I am writing to express my concern about S. 1932. Sections 6201-6207 of this bill allow for the sale of millions of acres of public lands to real estate developers, mining companies, and other development interests. Please protect our public land and vote against this. Thank you for your time. John Olvey " -

Amanda, I read the atachments and it sounds like a Bum deal for sportsmen and a sweetheart deal for developers. What exactly can we do to stop this? TJ
