    Youth handgun?

ha ha... yeah, his dad has a bow for him. But I don't know how good he is with it. We do have time for some polishing of skills. But I think his thing is wanting to shoot a pistol. I have a hand me down bow, but I don't think I have near the skills to use it for archery

    Another Payson Question

Water restrictions is a good point. We took our new trailer up for its maiden voyage. And we goofed off waiting to see if it would rain on Saturday instead of kayaking. We drove into Beaver valley estates and one other spot. Payson (area) has high water restrictions. another reason to go with the forest bordered property... would suck to pay ofr a house with a pool...(or add one) and have it sit 1/2 empty for the summer when the water restrictions go into effect

    Another Payson Question

I know the spot/area... and although ive never stopped there...I have seen the hoards of people that do stop there. Having a nice creek next to, or even walking distance, would be nice...but I think if it were me, I would opt for the property next to the forest. Kids can find their own adventures in a place like that...and family trips to find somewhere to play in the water. There's more options close to that area for family swim time. And now my rant about a pool. Skip it! We bought our house in Gilbert 13 months ago. I didn't want a pool, but got out voted. We did find a nice house, with yep, a pool. Now when we were searching, the step daughter was in swim lessons, and every chance (family friends etc) she would be in the pool. Since we moved to a house with a pool... I can count how many times on one hand she was in the water this summer. And I would say in the past 13 months I would say the lady and the step son have been in the pool less than 10 times a piece. The cost of upkeep, electricity, and the time spent cleaning the neighbors leaves from my pool... I would have rather not have it.

    Forum software upgrade

All of the longer messages are cut off.... Like the page/line break is screwed up. If the messages is typed and has multiple lines, it cuts off the last words of each line

    Hunters Ed Classes

Like IABorn said... never hurts to ask. I did the online class with the stepson. He needed the HE for the fall jr javelina tag. I couldn't find an open field day ever (plus only having him e/o weekend made it worse). I called and asked to be put on a waiting list, and they were able to squeeze us in . I felt pretty relieved and special until I got there, and half of the class was "squeezed" in also. ha ha

    Watch Guys Step Inside

My brother in law used to be a high end watch salesman. The thing that's funny about that is he could never afford what they carried in the cases. But he did know his materials, and was required to buy a "brand they carried".. He might be able to help answer some questions at least if not give you some leads on the ones he likes.

    AES- Volunteer water haulers

I just upgraded my truck as well, Sitting at the dealer, signing paper work I mentioned wanting to volunteer to help with this as well. I was quite surprised that my lady was super excited about wanting to get active with this as well. With turning 40, and a road trip (that we just got back from) now, I want to at least get my name on a list to help haul water also. Thanks for the post.

    Fluid intake?

three easy things to remember when staying hydrated. --a formula: "1/2 body weight = ounces of fluid" so if you weigh 200 pounds, you should drink 100 ounces of fluid through the day especially during high heat activities (working outside etc) -- bottled water doesn't really count Yeah, it's easier to drink, and I do prefer the taste over valley tap water... but it doesn't have anything your body needs. The ro process actually strips all the essential minerals that would be in the water, that your body uses, ... and if you drink enough bottled water, it will actually leach out the minerals that you do have worsening the effects of dehydration. --drink today for tomorrow. What you drink today, doesn't necessarily help you stay hydrated today. What you drink today is going to hydrate your body for the next day. Back in my earlier life, I would hydrate the crap outta myself, do the training run or 1/2 marathon without any water, and then try to find the balance again the day after.

    Mid Life/wife crisis Question

So.... turn 40 in july, but these ideas are all from my lady... so technically it's not my mid life crisis, but rather my mid- wife crisis. (sorry about the long winded story) I skrimped and saved and back in the day I bought a used pop up from my buddy. A classic 1979 coleman. Now it needs a few things here and there, not much but all we ever really do is have a soft place to sleep and a clean place to get dressed. Still cook outside and except for one javelin trip, the camper has never been a refuge during trips. Then I met a girl. She's keeping ,me around, been 4 years. We bought a house together, and I just got a check from selling mine... which has opened up a can of worms. She isn't a fan of my old vintage camper, takes a bit to set up and its hard to pack (without setting up, and unpack). I toyed with the idea of buying a New-to-me pop-up. Been keeping an eye out, missed a few deals because we were waiting to sell my house but oh well. The understanding was, sell my house, get a new camper. Turkey season came, one more set up of the ol coleman. She said, "what about a hard side". Well, trying to stay mobile with the smaller the better, and the fact that I have a half ton (or in most circumstances, my brother pulls it with his jeep), I want a small camper. Independent thinker.... she started showing me pictures of campers she found. So I fired back pictures of ones I thought would be a compromise. Finally she said "there's a rv show at UoPS, mom n dad are wanting to go, we can go too just to get ideas; then well look for something similar used." (Her dad is getting ready to retire, they want an apartment on wheels for traveling to see family and a bucket list). I thought the show didn't have anything all that interesting. She told me I was wrong, she found a camper that she liked 30' bunk house blah blah blah... well fully loaded, its hitting the limits of what my truck can pull. the next day I showed her pictures of ultra lights that I liked, and again, thought it was a compromise. Wrong again...I started the debate with "my truck cant handle that, my truck can pull these 3 trailers just fine.".... wrong.... she fired back, "you need a new truck then"., whipped out her phone to show me prices and had budgets and spread sheets.... (yeah, don't try to argue numbers with an accountant). I added the clause of... well depending on which "camper" you want us to get, im fixing up the pop up so I can actually go hunting still. SO finally the guy part of this... I want another dodge, first off. -What do I get? -Gas or diesel? (a diesel will be better for pulling, but in general use stand point) -years to stay away from? (I know they had a transmission issue for while) - Power wagon? (5.7 or 6.4?) -Mpg? So the background is, I really like the power wagon, but that might be because its awesome. Our budget is around $30k. a 3/4 ton will give us the capacities to pull the camper, but the cost of general upkeep on a diesel first of the practicality of towing a trailer a few times a year ? We probably found 12 trucks that are worth looking at off cyber scouting.

    Mid Life/wife crisis Question

Well thanks for all the input. I dont usually concern myself with resale value of anything I own, I usually drive my vehicles until I have to pay someone to haul it off I currently have a 1500 with a 5.7 HEMI. I like the truck, but if I upsize the trailer, Im in a pickle. I wasnt planning on upgrading the truck really (havent quite perfected the pinstripes on this one yet) I found 2 power wagons I like. One is $30k/w 50k and the second is $21/ with 88 on it. But the bigger question (since popular vote is diesel)... Both diesels are right around $34k A.)2006 megacab with 50k and 5.9 (electric gizmos, leather, moon roof) and 3.73 axles B.)2014 crew cab, 75k 6.7L but has 3.42 axles, Which one is a better deal. Im leaning towards the 2014 but those axle ratios arent very appealing. Any educational information on that stuff?
