What BBQ grill in your camp?

Depends on the size of the group. I have a coleman roadtrip lxe. its pretty versatile. Has its own stand. Can get a grate for grilling, and then other accessories include a griddle or a burner plate for it. Plus two pull out shelves. The family didn't like that it took an hour to make breakfast though in the bigger campouts, so I was gifted a Blackstone 28 griddle top. The things pretty amazing. we used it for house parties, camping, even cooking Christmas breakfast for everyone. They sell a grill top for it too.

    RTIC Coolers

my brother, and one of the other guys from the group have the larger hardside coolers. theyre amazing. keeps ice all weekend. I wanted to splurge for a roadtrip to texas last summer. So I ordered the 30 can soft side. Well, #1 it didn't show up in time... but oh well.(showed up the day after we got back). But in general, the thing is a piece of "chit" ... The soft sides doesn't keep ice any longer than a conventional cooler. I go through the standard loadings that I do with the regular ice chests. out of the heat before loading, as much cold items as possible then ice. The ice lasted a day in the soft cooler on the last hunt.

Security Screen Door or Company Recommendations?

there are 2 vendors at the Mesa market place (Crismon and baseline). they have some pretty nice designs. I cant say that I used either one, but their doors look pretty nice. And they have a wide range of pricing. We were there around fathers day, and we talked to both vendors. We were waiting to see if our offer got accepted, and then with the new house, that project has just fallen by the wayside so far.

    Volunteer Bison Hunt?

Well, maybe if they weren't treating you like a "hired gun" , they would get more takers. The requirements, seem normal enough... but who is going to hike out 8 miles for a shot then leave everything behind for someone else. The article I read, said that the hunters wont get to keep anything. Sure its a free hunt, but I at least want some back strap. lol. (there's an informative article but I cant get the hyperlink to work... so copy and paste) http://knau.org/post/park-services-makes-plans-reduce-north-rim-s-bison-herd#stream/0

    "Food Saver" food saving tips

one of the nicest gifts my sister ever got me was my seal a meal machine. its amazing. I use the rolls, and not the bags. (Seems to make it last longer, and cheaper-like others have said) double seal each end Ive partially frozen juicier items to be able to seal the bags My friend has expanded his camp cuisine by making things like spaghetti at home, bagging it, then just boiling the bag at camp and saving the pot of water We started premaking meals for at home. Can search the internet and find a variety of "freezer meals". We would spend one sunday a month and prep food and then freeze them in the seal a meal machine. The one day a month sucks, but then during the week its like 20 minutes in the oven and dinner is ready. We would sub beef out for game etc. And an 8x8 tray fits snugly inside the large roll "like it was made for it". then the added benefits of meat sales or Costco runs. Recommend getting a digital kitchen scale. I wait for things like salmon to go on sale , or bulk burger from Costco and then just portion it out into 1# packs. Watch for frys and as far as camping goes: can preseason and scramble eggs, then freeze and seal them. if you do it right the frozen packs stack better in coolers, and theres not dirty Tupperware at camp or coming back to. (we like carnitas, I make 5 pound roast and then make 5 meals out of them... for example) Can pre season and make burger patties, and seal packages of them. just gotta use your imagination really

    Propane tank certification

Propane tanks are good for 12 years, from the manufactured date stamped in the valve collar (the part that doubles as a handle). On the "bbq" sized ones, I just swap it out in the kiosk. It might be slightly under filled, but I can hit any depot, or frys and swap it out. I had a bigger one, it was like 5 ft tall (gave it away when I moved). that one I would get recertified (Arizona propane, by bass pro). Certification lasts 5 years.

    SOLD

looking for more information on this, looks like a sweet deal. Do you have information like the options you got (size of heater, water tank storage size, total weight, etc) I don't have a quad, but do you know what the front deck will hold (weight wise) or the total GVW capacity?

    Tags came in the mail

We were in the process of moving. I was real iffy if the sale was going to go through, or the timing of it.... so I didn't update my mailing address. Honestly I had hoped they would show up before the closing date. I changed my address (with the post office) when I knew it was concrete, mine showed up in the bundle of mail we got on the second day, but the boy's hasn't shown up yet. Giving up and going to have to pay I think. (we were on the same app)

    WTB 7E Flatline Map

look up rugged maps. (www.ruggedmaps.com) I came across them on fb. they're out of Oregon, but can make everything from maps to blueprints,. IF you're fb savvy, they are some pretty awesome videos of them on their page. they're printed on a vinyl cloth, have a 5 yr no fade guarantee, water proof, machine washable, and in one video the guy actually used it to hold his quarters when cleaning an elk, then washed the blood off. Remember the old raised relief map hanging in the elementary schools? that's how these look, but obviously flat and printed. The data base also uses previous wildfire boundary oulines (with dates) to show previously burned areas. they run 38 bucks (map+shipping) I want to say they are about 3X3 -- now the negatives. -We bought ones for 22 (comes in 2 maps, I believe he cut my brother a deal when he ordered this). 22N is a different scaling fro the 22s to get it to fit the sheet. not that big of a deal, -I bought one for 20a, and im not sure what data base he uses...like for example "Crown king" was actually on the map as Bradshaw City. (this might be due to the fact that the original town name was to be Bradshaw city, but people over time adapted to calling it Crown King-the name of the mine claim- and other maps over time just went with it) -On the 20a map, the unit is centered but the border between 20a and 20b are not that well marked. It is definitely a 20 a map, and I s labeled as such. but if you are hunting the fringes of units that might need some attention to detail to keep you "on the right side of the fence" I like them. I have a couple of flatline maps, But from here on out, im buying rugged.
