    Housing in Queen Creek

We just left san tan valley. The $/sf is good...but the amount of people, lack of infrastructure (county island), and the growth yet to come wasn't worth it to us.

    What would happen if???

Well it would be completely contradictory to what the purpose behind issuing tags is for, and subdividing of units. The unit is precise population control in area. Like someone before mentioned, (regardless of the numbers used)... people would congregate one particular area and then eradicate them, while numbers in less popular areas flourished beyond a healthy sustainable level. Someone correct me if im wrong, but that's the reasoning behind splitting the elk draw to feb rather than the spring-fall 2 draw cycle. People were putting in for deer and elk back when there was one process for fall... be lucky enough to get both deer and elk tags, but decided the elk tag was a better deal... and let their deer tag go to waste... thusly letting the herd size grow for deer which would have a negative sustainability impact for deer.

I haven't got any pictures to post yet. hopefully after deer season. lol
  12. wow, that's crazy... Zombie rattlers. Never knew they could "live" so long without there head. Something new to keep me up at night. Cant wiat to show the kids the video. Reminds me of the "crying dove". Seems like every season, when I get home to clean the birds, there's always at least one with a little wind left in its lungs, so when I go to clean the bird, it lets out a noise. ha ha

    22 north late season rifle

we had this tag few years back. For camping: we stayed just off the control road. We actually camped off of fr64 (diamond point shadows road) its pretty nice, and has lots of options for camping. It is a little off center, but still close. that hunt is dependent on the weather a whole bunch. 22 has two back to back bull hunts (typically thanksgiving bull, and the following week). Elk tend to drop down from the rim lake units down to the lower country when the extreme cold and weather hit up top. Pray for snow. That being said, find some good spots to work from the control road north to the "shelf" . When we had our hunt, the only guys I had heard of being successful hiked the az trail that runs parallel to the northern border of the unit and had to pack animals out. good luck

    AZGFD Email contacts list?

Was trying to do some research for the upcoming jr hunts for the kiddos for javelina. Was just curious if anyone here had the contact information for the Game Unit Manager for 20a, directly... rather than trying to go through the main office number for Kingman. Would rather try to send an email, than playing phone tag. thanks

    Where am I?

Pig sign? almost time to put in. gonna give up more of your spots this year? ha ha
  16. So I got "Cinderella'd" without the fairy tale ending. My lead said "Thursday is the first... Taking it off for birds... But e need coverage so work Friday." (Friday is my normal day off). Then I managed to squeeze the boy into the hunter field day on Saturday... Made it out today to find all the doves either slept in or went to Sunday service. Was just curious about how everyone else did. And BTW, my lead only got one bird on Thursday. Ha ha

    Bargain Camo

Ok, ok... back on topic: Really depends what youre looking to hunt too. Walmart has generic camo, but not the best for scrubby desert. Rustic Rdige (by wrangler) has some real nice earth toned jeans or cargo pants. I have a pair of brown bdu pants from when I was involved with the volunteer posse. Rustic makes some flannel lined cargo pants too (got those, and they work great). I think the non lined ones run around $35; and the lined run $45 I like the max one pattern myself that seems to blend in for mose beginners stuff, and for most areas. Deserty pattern but still fits in with pine and oak. Sportsmans has their "house brand" russel tshirts in max one for $15 for short sleeve and $20 for long. Every time I go into there, I do bee line for the "rotten racks" and can usually scoop up some deals on jackets and what not. Just remember layering. Your better off with a less expensive thinner jacket and more camo layers underneath to peal off as you warm up from hiking around. The catalog Sportsmans guide (or sportsmanguide.com) has rustic ridge and some other all around stuff to help get started and out in the field

    Rossi branch hand

Been kicking around the idea of picking up a Rossi ranch hand for HAM javelina. Only person I talked to that had/hunted with one wasn't a fan. Just looking for more information. By az gfd standards it's classified as a pistol and thusly can be used for handgun hunting

And yes PRDTR....I am contemplating the seriousness of getting one of these too... Kinda the point of this post. Ha ha

    An app for that?

So after a whopping 6 years, my lady finagled me into updating my cell phone. I figure i should make it worth my while. Any hunting apps that you use? Mapping or whatever. Just curious about "actual" recommendations... Compared to total strangers

    An app for that?

that's the boat I was in. The girlfriend's little girl wanted me to download a new game for her to play.... my phone was so old, I couldn't even access google play (the browser wouldn't support it.) What about weather apps? thanks for the input. I will start checking some out
