What do you think about the BP system?
Millhouse replied to 2 Full Curls's topic in Antelope Hunting
I seem to be in the minority here, but I don't mind the current system. I like the fact that every year I have a chance at getting drawn. I like the fact that if I do my homework, I can put in for hunts and put the odds (however small) in my favor. Seems like there is a lot of opportunity to get drawn for most things (elk, deer, javelina, turkey, etc). The others are just a waiting game on supply vs. demand. -
Just left you a voicemail....

Sweet. Love the slow-mo on the impact.

Another thing to think about...how cool of an experience would it be for you to get your first archery deer with you wife there? Even if it's not the biggest buck out there, that would still be a cool experience for both of you to share. Just sayin'....

Giant Coues ****B&C Score updated*****
Millhouse replied to Coues 'n' Sheep's topic in Rifle hunting for Coues Deer
WOW!!!! -
Have you ever missed a shot because of a steep angle?
Millhouse replied to CouesWhitetail's topic in Contests and Giveaways!
A few years ago I missed a decent buck because of the downhill angle. It was almost in the same spot as the year before, but didn't account for the change of angle. Anyways, after missing four times (figured I was shaking until I thought about it later). I got the whole thing on film, and you can see all of my shots hitting above the buck. Dump move that I will not repeat....hopefully. -
You could become a teacher (construction or building trades). Not the best time to enter the profession, but with your industry experience you could get certified easily and teach the next generation everything you know.

Traveling for coues MO to AZ part 2
Millhouse replied to CumminsRig's topic in Rifle hunting for Coues Deer
Wow! Great trip. I would say that it was definately worth the time and miles it took to get here. Looks like Cowman did a great job getting others some nice deer! -
"Which leads me to my next point of discussion... if they cant charge the cc for the application, how do they skim the processing fee for the unsuccesful, bad cc holders out there?" That is a really good question....guess they are simply out that money? That kinda stinks

Lance, Would you mind perhaps comparing this system to that of the Claw? Which do you like better and why? I don't have either, but am looking at getting something sometime.

My father taught me the same thing growing up; it didn't matter how good the spot was, if someone got there first, it was theirs and we could go elsewhere. Same thing when fishing. I think that far too many folks don't see a problem with doing such a thing these days. Too many encounters with folks that seem to think that it's not an issue. I know we all have the same right to access the land as the next guy, but that code of conduct most outdoorsmen used to follow seems to be slipping away and becoming the minority.

Pretty sure they still do the clean-ups....one in the spring and one in the fall...I have been to a couple. I would imagine the hardest part of the planning would be having the right bags (the ones they use are tough) and a dumpster to get the trash out. Again, I am pretty sure they are still doing the clean-ups but I could be wrong.

Thanks guys. I'll be heading down tomorrow...I just get to be a weekend warrior this year but it's better than nothing. Figured it would be a good idea to have the number in the cell phone.
-
Can anyone share the phone number you should call for BP while down there in the field?
-
Well, what can you say. I fell for it again. Actually thought the Cardnials were capable of winning the game. I should have known better. They get me all the time... Again left wondering why I keep holding on hope?

Sorry that things are so tough but family first. A buddies dad used to buy guns just so he could sell them later when times got tough. His dad has since passed, and he has had to sell of bunch of his dads stuff. It's tough, but sometimes we just do what we have to do, and not what we want to do. Hope things get better.

That stinks man. Hope some justice is served. Probably a coincidence (I doubt they would be that stupide), but check out this Craigslist post that came up today.... My link

Awesome! Congrats to your son and a job well done.

Very nice. Way to get it done!

I am against it. However, the main reason is due to the fact that folks don't have to front the money. If they had to 'pre-pay' or if they were at least 'pre-charged', then maybe it would sit better for me. I know my reasons are selfish...but it is what it is....
