We had a tough weekend in 8 as well on my wifes hunt. Only heard one gobble and it didnt pan out. Tough three days for us.

Nope. We never got our spring turkeys tags either though so that stinks that we have to pay for a duplicate tag (even though we never got to ours in the mail)

I think the travel management map would be a good idea so that you knew which roads you are allowed to drive on. Altough most are marked, some are not so that map is a must in my opinion along with a flatline. Google earth will help, but a travel management map is still important

I see your point and tend to feel the same way. Fun hunt that I always enjoy. Taught me a lot about archery hunting and brought some good memories. However, I stopped hunting them because, as a family, we dont like the meat.

I watched a buddy rattle in a lone buck on year, worked like a charm and brought him in on a string. I tried the next day on a buck with a doe and had the opposite effect.

Bummer man. Thats impressive that you were able to find him after traveling that long. I wonder if someone else shot and tagged him before it died? Again, bummer either way.
