Now that everyone is happy or sad after the draw (im in the sad group) Its time for my Elk pics as they grow all summer. Its been 3 years posting here on Coues. What a slow weekend, the full moon kept the elk out all night. But there was action. Seems to be alot more non typicals than in previous years, Got a picture of one bull with rope around his antlers and neck. Just a reminder to pack out your trash !!!! enjoy! A very cool weekend to say the least, woke up saturday am to head out and the temp gauge on the truck said 27 degrees, I thought hmmmm must be broken. Got back to the house and the Dobermanns water bowls were frozen over. The gauge was right! After 4 years of taking pics of elk, andI have yet to see a fawn Elk, and then BAM ! It hits me like a ton of bricks. We will start off with the babies, then the ladies then Im not to sure if these are Gay elk or ??????????????. Ending up with the normal bulls, ( I think) Here we go......... ENJOY.............. I DID Johnny The BABY`S (a shitload of em`) The Yearlings The MAMAS (some serious close ups) Gay ELK ? WOW...... What a cool weekend, not all the pics turned out great, but some did. I could tell the females must have been dropping calves, the only cow elk out were the 1 year olds, normally I could see 75-150. I got some new friends to show off, LEFTY and DOWNTOWN, some cool looking elk to say the least. Some like em` typical, and some like em` non typical, they`re a trophy in some ones eyes I still cant tell if the drought is hurting, some of these boys seem pretty big for the 1st month and with roughly 75 days to go... OH MY............. Enjoy the pics........ it was nice this weekend, 70`s beat 100s any day of the week. It all started with a badger, then some cool cow elk in flight, then we can start with the baby bulls then let em get bigger Enjoy........ I did Johnny All in all, not a bad weekend, but pray for rain. The last pic is of Kaibab lake in unit 10.................. Pretty sad !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! forgot BLAST FROM THE PAST
