These idiots figure that hunting is a small part of their business. They forgot to check on all of the other items that hunters with families buy on a regular basis.

Conserve and Protect (Tags) Presentation at G&F Mtg
Ringer replied to 40-year-AZ-hunter's topic in The Campfire
Snapper- it is a scam. SFW gets tags based on some scare tactics with wolves then they get commissioners and politicians in their pockets and get more tags. Absolutely zero transparency for citizens to see. Why would you want to ever allow that to start here? Guides, outfitters and people who sell and produce hunting items would like to see the tags given up as they are highly demanded by people who can afford to buy them. They all profit from a resource they do not own. This has nothing to do with the Humane Society IMO. -

More from the news article: Allen also took a perceived shot at Sportsman for Fish and Wildlife: "You are not supposed to be sustaining an organization and surviving on the revenue from those tags, you're not supposed to be living off those tags, the wildlife is supposed to live off those tags." Utah hunters want proof that shows SFW is using the expo tag proceeds for wildlife conservation in Utah. "Every organization is subject to audit for the funds they receive, but SFW is not, so our question is what are they doing with those funds?" said Bennett. 2News also reached out to Sportsman for Fish and Wildlife in an effort to learn where the money is going. CEO Jon Larsen declined an interview request for this story, but left a voicemail message saying, "if there's a story to be written it ought to be on the success of the expo." The SFW in Utah has gotten politicians and Commission members loaded so no one can audit the books or challenge them for control of the free tags. -

Here is one on the Expo created by SFW: The Rocky Mountain Elk Foundation, submitted a proposal, offering to run the expo. It also offered to give 100 percent of the proceeds from the hunting tags, back to Utah Conservation Efforts. Instead, a State Purchasing evaluation committee chose Sportsmen for Fish and Wildlife, which has been involved in running the expo for several years, but only designated 30% of the tag proceeds to conservation efforts. The decision created a firestorm amongst Utah outdoorsmen, who sounded-off on hunting forums, accusing the DWR and Utah Wildlife Board of corruption, catering to special interests and accepting bribes from Sportsmen for Fish and Wildlife. "They seem to be, putting it mildly, in bed together," said Wes Bennett, whose been a licensed Utah hunter for several decades. "I don't believe it's in the interest of the general public, or the general hunter rather, I believe it's in the interest of an elite group of trophy hunters." -

Of course I am going on with it. See you at the June meeting. Be careful, if Pete stops too fast you might end up with a brown head. -
We better flood the hall in June. I am betting Pete picked this meeting because it was too far away for actual working people to make it. We now have a chance to do what we did in 2012 and shut him up.

Wonder where the spy nefarious redass is? He is definitely working for Pete and his boys. Need to pack the hall at the June meeting. -
Anyone going to the commission meeting on May 4th? That one should tell if the politics are in play. I think the commissioners have a retreat on May 5th as well. If anyone has the timing and location let us know.

Sure you know Pete. He is the one paying you to work out of your Mom's basement. You told me you impersonated a reporter to infiltrate HSUS and get all of their email info. I think you are doing that here by pretending to be a concerned hunter. You need to give us a list of handles you use on the hunting websites to post your kill photos. I don't use Nummie to bust knee caps. He is a pussy and I enjoy the work. -

The $250000 was mostly from the sheep society. They sold one tag for $300000 last year. The money on HSUS was spent on political blocking moves. Nefarious is way too in the face at every HSUS protest to be a normal hunter in AZ. He knows all the players and has infiltrated the group so he has plenty of experience. My bet is if he hunted he would hold the gun barrel in instead of out. I don't trust him, Pete or Don as far as I can kick their asses. Knowing how Peay and his group compromised Weiers and used his daughter's lobbying firm in 2012 I would guess this train left the station long ago. People like Hamberlain want to hunt sheep, elk and deer in Arizona whenever they want. Money is no object and tags are a write-off. HSUS is the excuse to get that done. If we give up tags then this state will end up like Utah and that is not good for the North American Model. -

Nefarious- I still can't figure you out. You are way too involved in CPA to be a casual hunter. Are you in any way employed by anyone involved in CPA/SFW? You had the passion to go to many protests and risk arrest yet you say you are just one of us. I doubt that. I am thinking you are a plant. You remind me of my brother-in-law who trained the Saudis to fly F-16's then became a spook. What groups have you been involved with in AZ? Show us some of your posts on hunting forums over the years. You just popped up with your aggressive tone and something about you doesn't ring right. -

Nefarious is an odd dude. I met him. He challenged me on why there were no hunters with him at the protests by HSUS. I asked him just how he notified any of us. He has videos on Facebook if you are into that. I don't belong to the social media deals. I really think he likes to pick up hippy chicks at the protests. That and he has a photo of fat old Don Peay as his avatar. I think he has a great deal of passion but still can't figure out how he ended up in this fight in the first place. By the way, the $250000 was all from the old groups that used their cash reserves. -

AZkiller- when you say you know the AZG&F is on board what does that mean? Is the commission already in the tank for the auction tag idea or are you referring to a general agreement on the need for funding? I know the new group will be at the commission meeting on May 4th so hope someone can attend that meeting and report back to us. -

Well, that is the answer to the question. If our G&F would look at this as evidence there would be no more tags just an increase in fees. If a $5 habitat stamp would raise $2650000 a YEAR then why whore out the tags? -
Put all you want up. Some citizen Barney Fife will be along with his trusty 4 pound sledge. I am not leaving mine out. This one is going to end up with some funny stories after it is implemented.

Search the old posts on here. There is a 26 page post from January 9, 2012 that is titled HB2072 Sale of Big Game Tags. That is like groundhog day. Same players trying to get tags to sell and same groups saying all the nice things about the rascals. I wonder how many of the old fighters from that day are left on here.

I have used them but rarely. I set up at dark in the woods with high trees and wait until first light to call. If they answer you will get one. You need to sound like a hen hooker.

Nice and dedicated people at the meeting. I still don't understand how education funds will beat PETA or HSUS with the money they have. Supposedly any tags they get would go 100% to G&F for education. We asked just how many tags and they had no answer. I talked to the leader of the meeting and told him the name Pete Cemellero was a huge mistake. He said that Pete had not supported the last tag grabs which is pure BS. Someone suggested a $2 habitat stamp would raise a million dollars a year and they seemed to not have thought of that as an option. I was under the impression that they were asking for 100 to 150 tags and don't know where I got that. It sounded more like maybe 5 tags. I think if we let them use tags it will become an abused situation with the wealthy people and outfitters figuring out a way to expand them and use them for their own purposes. Our G&F commission has always been against that but they may have turned a few. They are going to the commission meeting on May 4th so hopefully someone from that area can attend and take notes. -

Search the old post from january 9, 2012 titled "HB2072 sale of big game tags". 26 pages and groundhog day. Same organizations welcoming the intruders and same old twisting of the truth. I hope some of the old warriors are still alive that fought the last battle. I hope the younger hunters will research and learn about the tricks of the trade on wealth tags. We are dealing with the same sneaky lot as before. -

That is all good. So they spent the money to make sure that HSUS could not hire them? How did that help? I think the new laws regarding petitions helped a lot. You would be better off going to the state legislators to introduce a bill exempting AZG&F from the initiative process. That would stop all of the special interest groups from interfering with wildlife management.
