That bull was bugling i take it?
-
Ok, this post is a little too emotional for me. No, seriously I enjoyed reading about your father Snapshot and I enjoyed meeting you at the get together at Jim's house. My father was killed when I was 14 in a plane crash while scouting for elk in unit 27 back in 1994. I have thought about doing a memorial to him on this site. As soon as I scan some old photos in I will do it. There is a memorial to my dad made of rock and concrete with a plaque on top in a remote place in 27 where he killed his biggest bull. A good friend of his packed a 60 lb bag of concrete about 3 miles up hill to the spot and his son packed a few gallons of water. Whenever we find old sheds in there we pile them next to the monument.

Actually I just ran some conservative numbers and came up with 371 so maybe you are pretty close. He looks a little bigger to me.

Nice pics! I think you will be pleasantly surprised at the score of that bull if you get him on the ground. Good luck.

Mullin's Got it done in a big way!
Brian Payne replied to matthewp45's topic in Coues Deer Hunting in Arizona
Wetmule, Be careful who you are associating with who. Biscuit is not a part of Mossback, AZ and he says so himself. Chad said he didn't know who he was and didn't care. Shane made some comments about killing "top end" bulls from the same area and what it does to the gene pool. This topic probably wasn't the place to do that as it should be reserved for honoring this bull and the hunters but it is and interesting subject and he said nothing to attack Jim or his "scoring ability." So it looks to me like you are the one "poststirring" with bad information and assumptions. Everyone else, Even if you disagree with what has been stated about the score of this bull or the "attacks on Jim" you are not any better than the attackers if you resort to less than tactful ways to defend such as name calling and below the belt shots. I applaud Jim for the way he has conducted himself here. Some others on here on both sides of the argument have some serious growing up to do. -

With my crooked measuring tape I bet that bulls beams are in the mid 60's. What a frame! -

*HELP ME SCORE THIS BULL* @ i added a few pics for the skeptics
Brian Payne replied to justahunter's topic in Elk Hunting
That bull is a giant no matter what anyone says. His bottoms are out of this world and his mass looks great to me. Just look at his rack compared to his body, huge. He is tough to score but I am usually low and I have all the confidence in the world saying we won't have any problem grossing over 400" -
Camo choices in Sierra vista az ?
Brian Payne replied to ArcheryHunter's topic in Bowhunting for Coues Deer
Amen FYI Sierra Vista is not in 34A. -
Dang Charlie, that buck is awesome.

His beams are good. Hard to say with only one angle but I think 350 is a little low.

Very neat! Thanks for sharing.

Party at Jim Reynolds' house!
Brian Payne replied to CouesWhitetail's topic in CouesWhitetail.com Get-togethers!
Thanks again Jim for letting us get together at your house and admire your collection. Hopefully I didn't get too much drool on the floor of your trophy room. It was good meeting everyone and swapping stories. I think everyone had a really good time. I know I did. Brian -

I have a Leopold Mark IV 4.5-14x50 tactical scope that I want to sell. It is black Matte finish and has a duplex reticle. It is two years old and has only been used on a handful of hunts. Has minimal ware. This scope costs over 1K if you buy it new. I am asking $700 OBO. PM me if you are interested.

Let me start by saying it was not me that found these sheds. They were found by a couple guys I know and they gave me permission to post them here. They were found this last Sunday on public land in some rough remote country in Arizona. They look to be a year old I am guessing. I don't know what they score but I am trying to find out. All I can say is WOW! I would venture to say this is a world class type buck.

B&C and AZ record book question
Brian Payne replied to youngbuck's topic in Coues Deer Hunting in Arizona
I have the latest copy of Arizona Wildlife Trophies (2005). Your bear would be tied for 50th in that book. Big bear! -
Those are some cool sheds! That buck has been around awhile. I am guessing the other brown deer antler is a Muley shed?

Beautiful country! Super photos! Thanks for sharing.

Now that is what we call the "motherload." Nice work. I bet your packs were a little on the heavy side. Be very quiet about your spot there.
