    My 2013 Barbary Ram

I got a chance to go on my first Barbary Sheep hunt this year. We hunted in New Mexico's Unit 34. I killed my ram on the first day. When we glassed up the group of sheep we were sitting at 4300 ft elevation and I killed the ram at 6700 ft. This was definitely one of the most physically demanding hunts I have been on and if we would have had to do it multiple days I think it would have about killed us. My 9-year old son came along on the hunt and made the entire climb up to the sheep! He is not a monster ram but I was thrilled to kill him. I look forward to hopefully getting a chance to hunt these animals again. These animals live in some seriously rugged country and much of their diet appears to be yucca plants. They eat the yucca leaves like spaghetti noodles as seen in this photo. The ram I shot is the sheep you can barely see in the center of the photo. I shot the ram at 430 yds with a 25 deg. uphill angle. It took almost an hour to get from where I shot to the ram. My brother was able to take a freeze-frame photo from the video just as the bullet hit the ram. Notice the dust flying off his back. I got to share the hunt with friends and family which always makes it more enjoyable. Just wish it would have lasted longer!

    My 2015 Arizona Late Bull

I was able to harvest this bull on the fourth day of my late rifle bull hunt in Arizona. Other than some fierce wind we had a great hunt and saw a lot of bulls everyday. I had a lot of great help from friends and family that made it possible and enjoyable. I hope I don't have to wait 7 years to do it again!
  4. Nice job guys! Congrats!

    Dayson's 2015 Buck

My son Easton and I got to help my friend and hunting partner's boy Dayson shoot this buck on the general October hunt. Dayson is 12 years old and this is his 7th big game animal and 3rd coues buck. This is his biggest to date with a gross score of 106".

    My 2015 Arizona Late Bull

He is actually missing about 3" of his left G-3, but yes, pretty clean for a late bull, especially for not having a lot of mass. I did pass on several good bulls due to broken points.

    My 2014 Archery Bull

That was definately one of the best early elk hunts I have been on. We were on 350-380 bulls every day that I was there. Kevin worked really hard scouting and preparing for this hunt and then hunted his butt off for 9 straight days. As mentioned in his post he experienced some rough luck but stayed positive and persistent and it payed off. He difinately earned this bull.

    New Mexico Archery Bull Video

Great job with the video Jay. I love the way you capture the suspense of the hunt as well as the beauty of the outdoors. Would have liked to see a little more of the full view of the bull after the kill.

    Unit 1/3b fire

That's the only big piece of Unit 1 that didn't burn in the Wallow. They did a bunch of thinning in there so hopefully that will help.
