Looks like a heck of a trip. Thanks for sharing.

bowhuntinmaniac, Your reply was really cool. How neat to get a TC picture of a one horned buck and then find the shed right there!
-
Nice sheds! Neat character on some of those. Don't feel the rain and hail as much when your finding them huh!

Nextdoor Neighbor's Coues Mounts

That buck is a tank! -
That is a solid buck. Length, mass, good all around.

Been brought to my attention...

Congratulations Casey! Now go get em! -
If only those sheds had some mass! Good grief! Score?

Nice Coues Buck
Brian Payne replied to Hunterdan's topic in Photography of Coues Deer and Other Wildlife
Looks like a solid all-around buck. Could be a real thumper this hunting season! -
Shane, You guys have taken scouting to a new level. It is like surveillance of a jewelry store or something! No angle of the unit goes unviewed and when you start coming up with names like "swamp donkey" you are going through a lot of bulls! Nice job on finding the sheds Jim.

Great write up Lance. I really enjoyed reading that. Sounds like you guys definitely put in the work necessary to make it happen. Brian -
Some nice bucks there. Ought to be finding some sheds in there pretty quick!

Azantlerhead, Durand and I had some pretty wild adventures shed hunting back in highschool. We used to take off hiking with no paticular plan and spend half our time lost trying to find the truck. One time we went shed hunting in January in the snow on no sleep wired on caffiene and still managed to pick up about 20. We were so exhausted the snow banks on the side of the highway were all that kept us on the road on the way home. One of the spots we hunted sheds is about 5 miles from any road as well. One time we found 76 in a day and half. We got this "brilliant" idea that we were going to build stretchers out of logs to carry them out so that we wouldn't have to make so many trips. The stretchers broke after a few hundred yards and we ended up making several trips packing them on our backs. That is what I meant by the "young and dumb" days. I am definately not saying anyone who hikes a lot is dumb because Durand and I would still both be really dumb if that was the case. I was just commenting on the fact that he was able to find a great bull and pick up his sheds in a place that wasn't a 3 hour hike in like we had mostly done in the past. Nice finds in your pics and way to work for them

In the words of Brad Paisley "Well I'm gonna miss her" Nice horns. That 6th one down looks pretty funky. Would like to see another shot of that one.

Man that is neat that you have been able to keep tabs on that buck for that long and that he has been able to survive that long! Looks like before long he could be an easy meal for somebody/something though. We had a buck that we were able to follow for about 3 years and actually found 5 of the 6 sheds from those three years and a couple of trail cam photos and then he just up and disappeared. Not sure if a lion or a hunter got him. Tried to ask around to people I knew were in the area but nothing. I guess that is why they call them the "grey ghost." Hopefully you can kill him and then you could get a cool mount with all his sheds and photos on a plack next him. That is what we were hoping to do but we couldn't close the deal on the killing him part. Close but no cigar! Here are some pics of "cuatro" and his sheds.

Thanks for the game and prizes! Man those bulls have all got to be real close in score and the pics are tough. I am going to say: left, right, middle 1014". -
Awesome man. That stuff looks great! Huge shed!
