Why not be an optimest!? I think it is a 138" coues!
-
Chief, Congrats! I just sent you a PM about this buck.
-
I agree with you Kevin K. High fenced animals are like the steroid junkee in high school, no matter how big they get you aren't impressed because you know it's all fake. Hunters that think it is sporting to shoot these animals are not real hunters and probably do it because they can't kill trophy animals in the wild. I would much rather shoot a 110" wild buck that I know has evaded lions and other hunters for 6 years than a 130" buck in a pin. I seriously doubt they have a buck that will go 200" non-typical on their ranch either. I sure hope this site doesn't sponser them.

Hi all, I havn't posted anything on CW for awhile but I have enjoyed reading all your posts and looking at all your great photos. Congrats to all those that have had successful hunts this year. My wife and I put in together for deer this year and drew Oct. Coues tags. Even though my wife had never killed anything she said she wanted to hold out for a nice one (I guess I rubbed off on her). After passing up several small bucks, I glassed this buck up on the second evening and told her I thought it would go about 85". She said that was good enough. I got her set up and she made a great double lung shot. When I got to the deer I realized it was a little bigger than I thought. I taped it when we got home and it went 94 2/8 gross. A lot bigger than my first buck! I didn't want to steel my wifes glory but wanted one more shot at filling my tag so I went out on Monday and glassed up my buck. He grosses 100 6/8. It was neat getting to enjoy a fun hunt with my better half. Sorry to all my old hunting buddies but I think I have found my new hunting companion!

I think we are seeing more women with big bucks this year than men! The ladies are showin us how it is done!
-
I bet you were one proud dad! That is really neat. Can't wait until I can experience that with my boy.

Good Job. It sounds to me like that is your first of many.

What Do you think he scores?

Lorana, Are we ever going to settle this little game? -
Thanks everyone. I like the idea of the double pedestal mounts. I will have to look into the cost of something like that. I know we are going to have them both done but taxidermy is not cheep as you all know!

Dude, that is a whopper buck! It is hard to tell from the pics but being a 4x6 plus nice eyeguards I think he will gross closs to 110. Had you scouted that buck before the season? P.S. I don't think it was the hat that brought you luck after what my Wildcats did to them this weekend! JK -
My Wife has Joined the Coues Fraternity!

Good job Adams. I can appreciate that rough unit 27 country. That is the unit that I grew up trompin around in. I think it was more exciting watching my wife shoot a big buck than if I had done it myself. That is neat you got it on video. How did she manage to only get blood on her fingernails? JK -
Awesome buck with great character. He looks similar to the New Mexico buck that used to be the world record NT. Good job killing the buck that you had been scouting.

He hit it with a rifle on a November hunt. I guess there is not guarantee Jackie's bull is the bull he hit, but the peices all fit together. Just fun to speculate.

Here is a picture of the mount of Jackie's bull.

I know the exact spot where she found that bull. I had walked through there a few times several years before she found it. I think I found one of the sheds off that bull from when it was younger though. It was only about 20" long but had eight points on it including a point coming off the back side like the one she is holding on the right antler. Several years before she found it one of my friends was guiding in that same area when a hunter from another camp came by their camp just sick because he had hit a giant non-typical bull in the same canyon that bull was found in but could find it. The hunter was from back east somewhere and probably doesn't even know that his bull got found. What an amazing bull! I have seen several bulls come out of that area that had short beams but rediculous mass including one my dad killed back in 92. I wonder if it is an area where some of those genes from the Meriam's elk are still lingering. Who knows? Neat stuff. Brian

Another Great Buck

That buck has sweeeet character!!! With those stickers and all those points I think he has the potential of becoming a giant non-typical buck. Any sightings in Dec. or Jan? -
That is a bomber shed! You are right about great fronts.
-
I would rather go hunting and get completely skunked or maybe even get sprayed by a skunk than watch a bunch of cars drive in 500 circles but that is just me.
-
Pretty buck with some neat character. How far was your shot with the muzzle loader?
-
That buck is sweet! What great g1's and character! Have you had him scored yet?

Those are some increcible trophys! That bull's main beams have got to be over 60 inches. At least they look like it in the photos. -
So Az Wallow...

I would say those are fox in the previous photos, not coyotes, but no doubt that is a whopper bobcat. -

Andy, You are tearing it up with those new trail cameras! My guess is that the last buck is an older buck that is on the decline.
