  1. Going out for the day on Thursday, leaving around 3am and returning about 10pm. Going to glass a few canyons for bear, put some boots on the ground, and set a few trail cams. Looking for an extra pair of eyes and snake killer to accompany me. PM if interested and available.

    chiggers

Don't hate me, but I have hunted predominately in 22 and 23 for about 20 years now and have yet to receive a chigger or mosquito bite. I am always eating gnats and a few ants, but maybe they are drawn to a certain blood type more than another blood type. Not quite sure? Should be great for bears this year, regardless of our insect pests!

    Meat question?

I agree. If it was still cold it is good! Cook it and eat it. Have a huge 4th of July cook out with it!

    rare or normal

Normal. She is probably heterozygous for black hair and mated with homozygous cinnamon boar. Odds were probably that 50% of her offspring would be cinny. She just beat the genetic odds and had both cubs lighter colored. Nice picture.
  5. Stars didn't quite line up, and the Chinese fortune cookie I opened up Wednesday night did in fact rattle my nerves... I hope to make it out sometime this week.

Bring your kids over for Christmas this year, it will be a blast! Good luck on the cams and deer hunt.
  9. Umbrella? Heck no! I need to work on my Arizona sunburn.

    Two Bear Rugs

I received last year's black-brown bear and my previous year's blonde bear from Jim at Southwest Wildlife, one of the sponsors for CWT. The blonde was the one that Jeff Paulson had for a year and did absolutely nothing with it, but feed me lies. I was lucky to even reacquire it from him through his brother. I hand called in both bears during spring archery seasons in 3C and 23N. I love them both and thank Jim for keeping me a happy customer.
  13. If you are addicted to color phase bears, like me, do NOT go the that Facebook site, or you will drown in your own drool!!

    ....

My father has a half acre back yard with 2 tortoises already. He has a pond in his backyard and all kinds of tortoise friendly vegetation. They grow lettuce and chard for them to eat as well. He is a tortoise freak and would love to have it if earlier dibs on the old reptile fall through!

    Long Range Archery

It is probably not long range anymore, but I practice and shoot out to 80 yards with a single pin sight and watch others do it up to 100 yards at the archery range.

My bobcat is all finished up!

    Sow & Cub?

Sweet bear. Unshootable with her cub though. It looks like she is two tone with shedding occurring, especially from the last photo angle.

    Easton Axis

Maverick, Please expand on the comment about FMJ having more weight than the Axis N-fused arrows. My axis ST's are 9.0 gpi, what weight are your FMJ's?

    Easton Axis

I shoot AXIS 400 SLIM and love them. They are 9.0 gpi and I top them off with 100 grain Wac'Em XL fixed blade broadheads. I do not use collars and they shoot fine for me out to 80 yards.
