I used a couple buddy heatersblast year up there on the early and late hunts, seemed to work fine. During the archery hunt last year up there while i was poking around it rained quite a bit and was colder than the early hunts i thought. But most years its drier and warm.

Yeah, no need for a guide if youre a confident hunter IMO. The 4 days prior will be crucial if youve never hunted it. Just spend time poking around the low country. My mom drew it with 0pts this year as well.

Savage lightweight hunters are pretty neat too.

We have both the kimber hunter and ruger american and to our surprise they shoot the same loads just as good as one another. Just the ruger is a bit heavier.

Ford 8 lug is different than dodge.

Lol, our buddy from cali comes out here to hunt and then we wind up trying to build more guns. The khales is a super nice scope, its on the lapua, its taken lots of animals. Unfortunately, about a year and a half ago before a december hunt my buddy dropped the rifle like 6" onto the end of the barrel and the shock popped the back like 4" of the scope off, stripped sone threads and stuff. Khales took care of it, which was good.
