First bear and he's Giant! Added video
Camofreak replied to bonecollector777's topic in Black Bear or Grizzly Bear hunts
Congrats! I missed what wouldve been my first bear yesterday. -
Ive been using backcountry, because all my wavepoints are saved on it. But i do like the new layout of onX
-
Yeah...

Ive had both, outdoorsmans all the way. Its a lot more secure in the outdoorsmans adapter, and you can lock it down. The swaro one isnt as secure. Shoot me a message, i might be able to help you out with a stud so you dont have to pay another $20 for it.

I cant believe this is still here

Surprised you didnt say Upchurch also. I listen to pretty much everything mentioned, typically the harder rock stuff. A little sublime, mike pinto. All depends on the mood and whos in the truck.

Just curious as to what you guys that have spent many years up there think the weather is going to be like on the October hunts. Snmce its a week later. Ive been up there when its snowing and when its 70 and sunny in October. Figured someone might have some knowledge based on the weather so far this year. Either that or its just hit or miss.

Great site, thank you!

Starting to rethink my career now...

Optimal range is whats most comfrotable for you, a bear could come in at any range really. I would say try to figure out their pattern, sitting water might be good, or just glassing them up and stalking them. Kidso has taught me quite a bit about calling for bears and just bears in general, maybe give calling a shot.

Slik 634cf. Awesome tripod! If i didnt have the outdoorsmans thats what id have.
-
I always used the low until i got the outdoorsmans pan head, the low worked fine with their pistol grip and micro though.
-
Buy the tripod seperate, its harder to get just a package deal.
-
Cant even touched a nice used one under 35k. Ridiculous.
-
Yes. If you get the panning attachment the connection is the same as the manfrotto, easy swap.
-
The 3 are davis tents, the 12x14 is a montana canvas.
-
Dang, youd need a big tent. Might be worth it to buy two smaller ones. That way when you dont have as many people you can still manage to put one up by yourself. We have a 8x10, 10x12, 12x14 and 15x18. 8x10 is turning into my favorite because its small and easy/quick to put up on the shorter trips.
