So ive been having the thought of putting a 6.5 creedmoor barrel on my 243 ruger with the tang safety, was wondering what your guys thoughts were on this? Was going to put a good scope on it, but leave the stock. I know there isnt much out there for aftermarket goodies for the rugers, but i know the action is a good one. I dont want to buy a 700 to build if i have this sitting here, im not really using it for anything but would love a 6.5 as a coues gun! Wanted to hear thoughts on this? What contour barrel? Twist? Dang that's crazy stomp! I'm going to look into those barrels, seems like a great deal! Did you use a cnc to do the threading and chambering? I need to look into a shop to do that.

As far as tripods go just find one that will be tall enough for you, sturdy enough and light enough. Tripods I don't feel are overly important, just find one that works for you. Optics are more important.

Definitely look into getting some 15x or 12x bi is and a tripod with a decent pan head, makes all the difference! I never used a spotter unless you're really looking at how big an animal is down to the inch. TONNSS of deer in those units so you will do great. Thanks for your service!

The stud works fine, but the Allen head on it is a little chewed up.

It's not bad at all, it hugs the ground pretty well, so I'm not ever worried about bugs. Plus you can have the annex on so nothing comes in the front. They make bivys for your sleeping bag/pad and those keep out any debris and wetness. I have one I'd throw in for the right deal.

Interested in Kaibab HD's, Outdoorsmans/exo pack, good tripod or tripod head. Have cash for greater value stuff too.

Yeah I noticed that yesterday also!

Just went out today, shot a couple fish, there is a lot of fish up and above right now, the only problem is they are EXTREMELY skiddish, i was flyin solo today so it was hard to get one them before they busted, and it was a little breezy so it was a little annoying with the ripples and boat drifting around. Moral being, the fish are out and about, should be fun at night now.
