I've been close in the unit to getting ones like that...but with archery tackle it's not the easiest, like you said, it's a whole nother thing to actually get one.

I've been on a couple early hunts that it's snowed quite a bit on. And quite a few that it hasn't, it just all depends on the forecast when it gets closer to the dates, just gotta be prepared for either or.

My family had 3 tags there last year, they would say the same thing, to far to scout if you can't afford it, but if you spend the whole hunt up there you will find the big boys, especially when it starts to get real cold and nasty! Give the game wardens for that unit a call, they will practically point you at the big bucks.

I put 2 more cams up, one watching the main cam way up in the tree, and another close to where he drives by to see his plate. I think he is cutting wood waaayyyy down there, found a standing oak with some limbs cut off down by his tracks. He obviously knows my cam is there, and isnt touching it, so i think hes okay, so far...

This cam is one we just throw up in a little honey hole not to far for us to check on the regular, always big critters running around, BUT in the last 5+ years of having this cam in the SAME spot, weve only had maybe two different hunters walk past it. We have always carried salt into it and done it the right way. Granted its not stupid far from a road, but its a heck of a lot further then 30 feet. This dude had no business driving into there.
