That are freaking monstrous that you see the day archery elk starts.....like really?! How many of you hunt archery deer and then elk after and see the big bucks the next day?!

Not very good in my unit...Next week will hopefully be a turn around, ill only get like 4 days since im helping my mom smoke a bull on her hunt! I may have never shot a bull with my bow, but id rather my mom get one first!

What's your guy's opinions on this years Rut? How early or late do you think it will hit in most units? What units are you expecting a good timed rut? Just curious, I've seen the bulls moving and the little guys bugling. I know there starting to think of it.

Yeah where i am its high is 70, mixed with the rain it might cool it down more, if it get in the mid to low 60's we should be game! I still think the 2nd half of the hunt will be the best.

Funny thing is the guy i sit next to in my Chem lab did an internship with AZGFD this past summer banding doves, he said he banded probably 900 birds? I think? Makes me really want to shoot one though! Cool find!

Most of my spots are a bust, cant find many good spots here in N. Phoeinx. We went out and shot only 8 birds this morning.

For some reason i just cant seem to bring myself to throw a mech at an elk, i liked the way the ulmers flew out of my bow though. With it being this close to season id try to stick with whats working. I just decided to re fletch all my arrows with 4 fletch. What a mistake this is, only have a week left!

Huh...weird, i hope they start figuring out that they need to be fighting each other in another week or so.

Yeah heard bulls bugling in 6a a few weeks back. With this cooler weather and rain there spread out and doing different things.
