There is one double bearded Tom in Our trailer park. Only one Iv'e ever seen. and like I said there is a paint brush or 2 that are hittin the ground. Its tough for them to be to long cause -30 below 0 and ice . It eats em up just like it does to Me.I think most bird here would not make it thru the winter if not living of a ranch or people feeding them in town. Just to Frickin cold. They would freeze on the roost..Any those are trophies to me................BOB!

Iv'e killed many toms and 1 jake, in the last 20+ years. My ? is if a Jake has a 3-4 inch beard in the spring how long will it be in the fall. I havn't hunted fall birds in many years, all my kills are spring hunts. Here in Dakota this spring there was a ton of jakes. Thinking about going out cause here You can do alot a spot and stock with all the little rolling grassland hills.. I allways thought fall was tough in AZ. in the pines. I never found birds in the fall where I would find em in the spring. Here they stay where they got trees to roost in cause there aint many..Any Turkey experts out there? Or I should say Biologist?????.................BOB!

Funny how some Jakes have just the 2" stubb and others like the one I got has a 5" beard. I know He's a jake cause nubs for spurs and the jake tail feathers.............Most of the birds Iv'e killed had 8-9" beards. Never got one of those real thick paint brush beards. Seen some in the neighborhood tho................BOB!

It's hard to even have a coversation with a lott of them. I am surrounded by them up here in Dakota from all over the country. Even most Montana, Wyo., Idaho guys don't get glassin like we do. Its like they are clueless. I tell them I will see 3 times a many animals if we go to the same ridge. They think I'M lying...................BOB!

Fantastic. My DAD just turned 94. To live past 90 and endure the tough life these guys did in the depression then WW2 is amazing in itself. To harvest a great bull is amazimg. A huge congrats to this great Man. This is a great post............BOB!

I can't and won't. And grew up in PA. till I was 21 in 1977. The only thing Iv'e hunted back there since is spring Turkey. For My north Americam slam Had to get a Eastern Tom from where I was born................BOB!

Thats what drives Me nuts on 80% of the hunting shows on tv. Grown men in their 40's and 50's Jumping up and down and laughing their asz off after killing or wounding an animal.. Then theres the ones that yell great shot, and the animal goes running off.. I allways thought a great shot was when they drop in their tracks or a few steps and die right away. To each his own............BOB!

My buddy that lives in Casper starts his deer hunt Tomm. He is gonna see if its worth my 7 bonus points to hunt this area next year. Evan You got any Deer or ELK points. I got 7 of each and looking to burn em as I will never catch up to max (9) . I think I can get descent muley, but big elk sounds difficult. We are to spoiled with size in AZ. Any body have any tips on deer or elk units in Wyoming PM me thanks................. BOB!

Yup its a long wait in Az. for a tag so Ya may as well go to Wyoming for some fun. There are so many antelope there its nuts. You can trophy hunt from Your vehicle with good glass. Congrats................BOB!

Thats why I say hunting is not a sport. It is a instinct! Some keep doing it and never get it. They just don't have it or get it. Even with instinct sometimes We don't get it done. Some Guys can't Glass worth a chit with good optics or can't shoot worth a darn either......................BOB!
