Does Arizona currently provide a hunter safety number when the hunter safety course is completed? I have a card issued in 1988 but no number. In order to purchase a Colorado license I am required to provide a number. I called G&F and left a message but have not received a response.

Thanks for the response. It was full moon this past weekend and I didn't see a deer until almost 7:30 so that may be part of the reason I did not see more deer. I did not expect the deer to begin the migration and have not spent any time in the transition area. Good luck.

I have been scouting twice in the past three weeks and I have seen almost three times more bucks than does. I have not been in the Kaibab in a few years but have always seen a lot of does and I am not finding nearly as many as I expected. I have been scouting 8 - 9,000 ft elevation and am beginning to wonder if the does have moved to lower elevations. Any suggestions for what elevation would be best for does during the October 8 - 11 time period?

I bought a 30.06 with a muzzle break for my grandkids to use. The recoil is comparable to a .243 but was still too much for the kids. I tried the Remington Managed Recoil ammo and the recoil was comparable to a 22.250. The managed recoil ammo did not group as well as regular ammo but is acceptable for the distance they will be shooting deer.

I have some young grandkids that will we participating in the Kaibab youth hunt. My question is - can I legally carry the rifle during the hunt?

Thanks for the responses. I thought it would be OK to carry the rifle but wanted to make certain I wasn't violating any laws.

I had the tag last year. Stands and blinds anywhere there was water. I am certain that some stands/blinds were never used the entire hunt. I heard only a few bugles during the 12 days i hunted last year. The unit received a lot of rain during August and the elk were staying away from the tanks. If it dries out they will be back using the tanks and unless the rut kicks in sitting water is the safest route.
