    anyone hireing deisel mechanics

Getting hands on training from a shop with established journeyman is the way to go. Get some time under your belt, when able to obtain a Class A CDL get one and start looking at the utility industry. Excellent apprenticeship opportunities if you are willing to put in the time. The two major utilities in the valley will be having opportunities as a majority of the work force is approaching retirement and vacancies will need to be filled.. Best of luck.

    Fathers Day

Want to wish a Happy Fathers Day to all the fathers past and present. Wisdom does not come easy, learning from our elders is a blessing, take every lesson learned and pass it on to your kids. A gift that comes from the heart is priceless..

    old timer

Your pop is someone that that will never be forgotten. If you learned and listened to the words of encouragement, to pick your self up when you thought their was nothing else to be done yet your pop told you that success will come from your failures. You were nurtured and grew from the words of wisdom that came from someone that has lived and was willing to share knowledge then you were truly blessed. Enjoy your dad if you still have him. God Bless our fathers this father's day.
  5. Attending and passing a Hunter Ed program should be something every individual that wants to enjoy the sport of hunting should plan to attend. Sacrifices need to be made to achieve it. Some late nights, adjusting work schedules, what ever it may be. The men and women donating their time to teach our youths and adults is well worth the time it takes to get it done. Have attended a few with my kids and I have to say it was time well spent.

    Fire Restrictions

Good thing with the fire restrictions it just takes one to get away and a fire going. Have come upon empty camp sites fire going and no one around. Also garbage strewn about and sometimes bagged up and just left laying there. The idiots figure garbage pickup comes on Monday mornings I guess. Find this a lot in unit 23. Just bugs the crap out of me. Needless to say put out the fire and threw the bags on the trailer hauling Ranger and disposed of .
  7. Dropping the good old envelope and money order today in box at Game and Fish office. No glitches-simple. Good luck to everyone!

    Thank A Veteran

Take a minute and give a big -Thank You- to a veteran you may know. With the hustle and bustle of getting out of town, finding the perfect camping spot, whatever it is you have planned most people tend to forget what this long weekend is about. So Thank You to all the veterans past and present. Have a safe Memorial Holiday weekend.

    new truck help

This subject always comes up on this site. IMHO get what you want , can afford, and can maintain. Some on here do their own maintenance and repair on their vehicles as do I. Will say this my 02 with 7.3 is a running jenny and I have not walked anywhere. Good luck on your quest for a vehicle.
  10. Congrats on a nice buck. Dead is dead regardless of yardage. Good buck man, keep the pictures coming. Oh and welcome to the site.

    Knuckleheads of Yellowstone Park

Ran in to same situation a few years back in Yellowstone. Arrived early before sun rise at lake just out of Jackson Hole to glass for animals. Park ranger drove in and saw our glasses mounted on tripods and our AZ license plates. Spoke with him for a bit and he told us about a bear with cubs feeding on an elk calf just outside of entrance to park.If we made it in time we might see them feed. We went and found her--luck would have it after an hour or so the first vehicle to drive up passengers bail out and start snapping away walking towards them. Foreigners-tried to tell them to not approach the Grizzly but they did not understand me. Grabbed the camcorder and started filming, luckily they made enough noise babbling at each other and the bear cubs headed the opposite way with mom in tow. The carcass was about 150 yards off the road. Lucky folks I guess.
  12. That is a very good idea. Seems that all jobs in the private sector (non government)--utilities, mining, industry-manufacturing, etc. are all working on downsizing whether through attrition, lay offs, etc. Yet the expectation is do more with less. That has become the form of operation now. Hope this moves ahead, again -hope.

Can you fight a prior conviction?

Your second paragraph--you never got out of your truck but had picture taken to show that game officer witnessed you in the field? How did that happen? How did you agree to that if you were never out in the field ?

    Broadheads for elk

Try different broad heads and whichever gives the best flight out of the rest and is accurate use it. Muzzy 4 blades in 100 grain have worked for me. Went thru a few different types before I found what shot well. Good luck.

    unit 27

Take a few weekends to go learn the area, study topo-google earth maps and so on. Being in Arizona make the time to go. Hopefully when your hunt rolls around the elk will be vocal. Locate and chase the bugles --music to my ears and many others on here-Primo Tag for sure. Best of luck to you!
  18. Every tag holder has the right to be out in the unit. Regardless of chance meetings with others. Practice hunter respect and move on- continue hunting, if that means relocating to a different part of unit so be it. Just enjoy the hunt and time spent outdoors. Best of luck to all tag holders.

    E-Scouting

So it begins--the e- scouting. Was not drawn but fortunate enough to go with friends that were drawn.Enjoy the time out in the woods learning the areas that you have drawn. Best of luck to all that drew elk tags this year be it bull or cow.
  21. Since you both have reasons to be in the unit maybe your best bet is to not hunt alone. Take someone you can depend on to be your eyes behind your head and accompany you while you hunt. Out in the woods anything can happen.
  22. Agree with utilizing a guide if not able to put some boots on the ground prior to hunt. Sponsors on this site are guides. Best of luck to you. Primo Tag for sure!

    diesel owners school me please

Depending on your needs, for towing can't beat a diesel. 3/4 ton gas will do just fine if not pulling all the time. My preference/personal vehicle is a Ford 4x4 with the 7.3. Runs great, suits my needs , and has not left me. Maintenance is key -regardless of what you drive. Good luck finding what suits your needs.
