Well the time is fast approaching---want to wish all safe travels getting to your respective units with the kiddos . Make it a good safe time for the Juniors .

Best of luck and have fun with them---make lasting memories !!!

First off want to congratulate all the juniors who filled tags on the cow hunt . My kiddos did not fill their tags . They had opportunities on Saturday in the morning and afternoon . A little to excited when shooting lol . Was a good learning experience for them and fun was had by all . Due to school obligations our time out was cut short , but memories made and hopefully the bug was planted to keep the wheel rolling . Again congratulations to all who were successful !

Took this picture a few years back in unit 10. Note the distance this bull flew through the air after jumping the fence at a full out run. Looks like exhaust coming from his hind legs. Maybe this is why they can disappear in an instant, they can fly.

Id post a pic if I could but unfortunately the grim reality of loosing a bull hit me for the first time. Shot a stud yesterday morning in 10. Tracked him for about 1/2 mile until blood stopped and he walked through an area filled with tracks. Spent 7 hours gridding, tracking, and glassing. Nothing. This was a first for me and i feel guilty about losing meat. Im pretty sure it was a lethal shot so I decided he was my bull and not to shoot another. I actually had 4 other opportunities at other bulls after the fact but passed. Overall it was a tough but awesome hunt with the rut starting slow but they were going nuts the last couple of days.  Passed on a lot of pretty good bulls but was holding out for a 350. Can't complain when i'm out in gods land fo 10+ days! Ill try to post a video of a bull that was teasing me while i was packing up camp Got within 15 yrds of him.

Congrats to all those successful and good luck on the last day of archery and other hunts starting soon!

Good to hear ethics played a roll in your decision to not continue hunting . Your tag your choice . Big hands up for you .

Have seen a few animals running around with arrows sticking out of them .

  4. IMHO--- I feel for the victims in that terrible accident , may they rest in peace . No one will know what happened as nobody witnessed the accident .

The responsibility lies in the operator of any motorized vehicle on public roads whether they are paved or unpaved . Vehicle fatalities happen daily  .  Some fatalities can be prevented which is probably the case here .  Unfortunately nobody around to see what happened . Paving the road is not the answer . Motor down the paved section towards Young -- speeds have increased due to being paved  . Again may they rest in peace .

  5. IMHO---Speed on the dirt roads from these UTV operators unbelievable . Not all drive like they are the only ones out there . Have seen and passed folks operating their go fast UTV's in a safe manner . Other than that be careful out there .

A full size truck and UTV mix it up on the dirt roads won't be pretty . Be safe .
