Winchester model 70 .270 150 grain load data?
Mike S replied to Lazy-H98's topic in Rifles, Reloading and Gunsmithing
My M70 .270 barrel shot very well with 150 partitions over H4831 and was not temp sensitive like the Reloder 22 I used with 130s. -
Since you will be re-barreling, a bolt switch should not be an issue as the new chamber will be cut to the proper headspace. The downsize in cartridge case diameter may have magazine box /follower implications though, not sure with 700s.

Cool bull on a tough post rut hunt. I'd like to see the one that broke him up...

I too have heard of troubles with the Kuius. One of the reasons I've stuck with my MR 6500 over the years. Heavy, but built like a tank. Never a bad word about Kifaru though. Hope you get things sorted out without too much delay. 15D is a fun unit with great scenery. Just not as many rams now.

MARCH-X 10X-60x High Master SCOPE WHY!
Mike S replied to SO I HUNT's topic in Rifles, Reloading and Gunsmithing
My bad. I've only looked over a compact model, a 2.5x25 I think, at our club 500 yard practice. It looked pretty slick. -
MARCH-X 10X-60x High Master SCOPE WHY!
Mike S replied to SO I HUNT's topic in Rifles, Reloading and Gunsmithing
I have heard of local F class competitors using them. More of a competition scope than hunting I'd assume. -
Those look like the older style GATs?

Great bull, thanks for the write up...

Big bulls are great, but I'll settle for meat at the end of the day.

I've been happy using this: http://www.jbmballistics.com/ballistics/calculators/calculators.shtml

You mean when you get your bull!

I'd steer away from cotton on a late hunt.

You should be able to remove the stud from the tripod leaving the lower disk attached and can then thread the head stud into the hole the tripod stud was threaded into.

Thanks for posting. It's making my head hurt though... and I have a Professional Engineering license ;-) -
Let's narrow this 6.5 chamber down (help)
Mike S replied to Zeke-BE's topic in Rifles, Reloading and Gunsmithing
I'd just get a replacement barrel blank for the 6.5x.270 AI and have it in hand to be fitted when the throat on your first barrel is shot out. -
^^^ This, see my avatar for a group from a 15D hunt last year. and another below. The raffle tag holders can hunt anywhere, but many seem to prefer the look of the Neslonis 1203160946b.jpg Auction tag can hunt anywhere. Raffle winners get banana horns to hunt! Aka nelsoni Yes auction hunters get the whole state. raffle winners just get the 15 units I believe which are the nelsoni. I stand corrected...
