He’s a politician so I already disliked him…. I hope i’m wrong but I think this guy is a clown. He picked the wrong side in 2016 and when DJT won he likely decided to jump on the MAGA train to further his political career even though he wasn’t MAGA after all. Politicians only change for money and power. I find it very unlikely that a person who said Trump was “America’s Hitler” just had a change of heart. I hate the pick. I hope I eat my words.

I’m trying something new this fall. Since I likely need more freezer space anyway (3 hunts this fall and I just split a beef) I bought a 10 cu ft chest freezer that I plan on taking to camp and using a generator to keep meat cool until I get home and leaving the coolers at home. Is anyone else doing this and is it effective?

These machines keep getting better and less expensive as time goes on. I just did 3 dozen eggs from our hens the other day. Yesterday honey crisp apples were on sale for $0.88 /lb so I did 12 lbs of apples. The best thing about FD is we now only buy stuff that’s a great deal on sale and FD it. Saves fridge space too. Longer term storage kept in mylar bags, everyday stuff kept in quart jars in pantry.

Bump up…. just finished a batch of chicken and rice. Really good recipe if any other freeze dryers want it. Dries and rehydrates great. I ended up with 24 mylar bags of meals. Cost $52 in groceries. 4 equal squares per bag.

My friend owns an FFL. He told me last week wait times are around 30…… HOURS 😳

Yeah the freezer brand new was less expensive than a large rotomolded cooler.

I plan on just bone in quartering. I have a walk in cooler at home, so Im not looking to freeze it…. When I get home I let it hang and dry age in cooler for 2 weeks. Easier to hang in cooler when it’s kept in quarters 👍🏻
