How do you like the FOB's? I shoot a short ATA bow, and read that they dont work well with that setup, as the string will hit the FOB at full draw.

I just ordered up something that I have wanted for a long time... a wall tent from Davis Tent in CO. Should be here tomorrow.

I drew the same hunt! Good luck!

I am tired of more and more regulation... If I support it or not. I'm not a smoker, but I think a bar owner should let people smoke inside HIS bar if he wants to. This is not just in refernce to hunter laws. It seems in every aspect in my life. Just leave EVERYTHING alone for a while. Land of the free? Please. Way too much government in our lives. I need to get a permit to cut a downed log into firewood in the NF. I was watching This Old House the other day, and a homeowner in Boston along the Charles River COULD NOT remove poison ivy from his yard because it is a histoic/protected area. He could not remove one weed from his own yard. My grandfather is probably rolling around in his grave right now. Sorry that was a little long winded.

Taser vs. Stun Gun?
Curtis Reed replied to 2 Full Curls's topic in Rifles, Reloading and Gunsmithing
Pepper spray is superior to TASER in my opinion. There is a lot of maintanence involved with TASERS, and they are not the most reliable option. I have seen them fail more than once. Then add in the high cost to purchase one of them. I have been sprayed by OC (pepper) spray and have been tasered, and although the TASER is painful and shuts down the central nervous system, it takes a lot of things to go right for a succesful deployment. OC spray is pretty fool proof and really takes someone out of a fight quickly. TASER will only last a few seconds and the bad guy can remove the probes and still attack, the OC spray lasts hours. The only down side to the OC spray is that the user can catch some residual spray in the air causing a little irritation. To use a TASER, you need a lot of training in order to know what to do with it in different situations. For example, if only one barb connects with the target, you need to complete the circuit by using a drive stun and you need to spread the distance of the two leads as much as possible. There is a lot to think about when using a TASER in a fight, and when stress levels are high I just think they are too much for a college student to use for personal defense. As far as the stun gun, they are just pain inducing products that only work for a short time. Very easy to defeat someone who has one. They do not lock up muscles like TASER. Go with the pepper spray. -
DO IT, DO IT, DO IT.... Mine was done in July 2009 at Southwestern Eye Centers in Phoenix. I went in for an exam to see if Lasik was possible for me. After the exam they asked if I wanted to do it right there and then. I walked into the office at 10 am, and was on the way home (wife drove) by 12:30pm with surgery done. Woke up the next day 20/20 and it was awesome. I am upset I didnt do it sooner. Best money I have spent!!! The surgery is a breeze, and is only 5 min long. I recommend opening a Flexible Heath Spending Acct if possible. I knew I was going to get Lasik so I opened a $1500 medical spending account through my employer. I paid a little over $50 per paycheck for the whole year for the Lasik tax free payroll deduction. I recommend it to everyone.

I have never had a problem shooting through the mesh with a fixed blade broadhead before... Just as accurate. I havent used a blind in a few years, and havent tried shooting with my new broadhead of choice: Grim Reaper Razortip mechanical. Rule of thumb is to only use fixed blades when shooting through the mesh

Stand hunting vs. still hunting (archery)
Curtis Reed replied to talltines's topic in Bowhunting for Coues Deer
It took me a years to make the transition from midwest tree stand whitetail hunting to hunting out west. I am also from Minnesota, and have been here since 2002. Hunting out here compared to there is a night and day difference. It is sooo much more difficult in my opinion hunting a non-guided, DIY public land western bowhunt here than it is to hunt back home. -
I can't see spending $29.99 to fletch 12 arrows when I can buy 50 quikspin vanes for $19 and fletch the conventioal way. The quickfletch is a great idea but they are way to expensive IMHO.

+1 There is a guy on ArcheryTalk that sells 5 dozen white arrow wraps for $11 shipped to your door. Great deal, and they are nice wraps. http://www.archerytalk.com/vb/showthread.php?t=989880

Where I was hunting last week, I glassed a large herd of elk on the side of a huge ridge. Several small bulls and a ton of cows. Both the cows were mew'ing and the bulls were bugling.
