I’ll start off by saying I’m grateful and excited to have drawn an early archery bull tag in 5bs! I can’t wait….. but I think I made a mistake on my application strategy. So, I had 10 pts, and when looking at the odds before any possible point creep I was 50/50 chance at both 5bs and 5bn early archery. I put 5bs as my #1 pick and 5bn as #2. I drew 5bs tag #31. I could be wrong, but i’m pretty sure tag #31 was the first tag issued after the bonus pass (200 tags). So I drew that tag in the random 1/2 pass. It got me thinking that I kinda screwed up on my strategy and should have put a primo trophy hunt as #1 and then either 5bs or 5bn as my #2. For all I know, I could have had the first pick of the 1/2 random pass and could have snagged a top tier early hunt in a trophy unit. If not, I still would have drawn one of the 5b tags. Am I correct in second guessing my app strategy? If I drew tag #30 I wouldn’t be thinking about the ‘what if’.

Last year, same unit, same # of tags and only 30 went to residents in bonus pass I’m assuming this year was the same

yeah very happy with the tag…. can’t wait

Yeah that may be…. I think though the first 30 are resident and 10 to non res for 40 total? If I understand it correctly, 10% go to non res (5% bonus pass and 5% random)? If you look at 2023, there were also 200 tags and only 30 went to residents in bonus pass.

I was considering the Lift as an upgrade over my Halon 32 but decided to keep the Halon. But I did drop it off at Timber Mesa last week for a tune, new string and a new custom sight tape. The Lift looks nice and is very light but sticker shock scared me away. With tax it would have been like $1600! I remember when the flagship bows cost $999.99.

My sister and BIL do…. they are always butchering rabbits. They get a lot of meat from those things.

Can’t argue with that

Yeah, the CWT forum is buzzing with non stop hunting discussion and new topics (not). If it weren’t for draw results, classifieds and sharing photos of the sloppy joe I made for dinner this forum would be dead. By the way…. what does “What I had for dinner” have to do with hunting exactly? Bad take.

Pretty sure you should draw that tag in bonus pass with 16 unless there was major point creep

I recently bought a freeze dryer so I am going to replace my emergency stash of food / backpacking / hunting with my own homemade meals. I bought these about 10 years ago and they have been stored indoors ever since. These were a lot cheaper 10 years ago and I am willing to pass on the savings to fellow CWT at the original price I paid. Currently on Amazon these are now around $125 / bucket and the new ones replace two meals with a breakfast granola “meal” so you really only get 10 meals. I have 9 new, sealed buckets. They contain 4 each of Spaghetti with Meat Sauce, Chili Mac, Chicken and Rice for a total of 12 pouches. I also have 1 unsealed, opened bucket with 11 pouches (I opened one bucket to eat one meal for taste test). If you haven’t had these, they are really good meals The Chili Mac is 🔥🔥 Selling buckets for $60 each and the opened 11 pouch bucket for $50. This is a great deal for anyone who wants an emergency store of food or just cheap hunting meals. 30+ year shelf life (but practically indefinite) Located in Queen Creek. Please PM if interested.
