Harvest sent my wife a new hose and drain valve. This didn't fix it. I had to tear it apart and reseal the fitting into the chamber. I was very disappointed with their very lacking instructions. I'm glad the parts came before i left for work for the year. My wife could not have fixed it alone. The parts took over 2 weeks to arrive from Utah; wagon trains are alive and well.

I sealed the potted fitting with the wires and sealed the fitting with RTV as well.

We are back down to < 400 milli torres.

    Hopefully it holds out

Yeah that was another weak point that was addressed with the new models. That part is now sealed with a glass epoxy.

My freeze dryer is down.  Won't pull enough vacuum.  I'm waiting on parts,  company is not very responsive. Hoping it's just a leaky vacuum hose.

Check your drain valve. fill a bucket with water and put drain hose in the water. if water is getting sucked up the hose when your pulling a vacuum your valve is leaking. the new pro models have a stainless valve as the other ones would corrode over time and cause small leaks.

Agreed, still haven't had a chance to start seedlings yet. Been working every weekend and some evenings. Slammed right now.

Water automation is a huge time saver too.  I almost got mine set up for automated.

Also getting ready to build some aeroponic towers based on this dudes designs. They look like they will be pretty sweet once set up.

Time to plant in ground is now. Better get those seeds germinated quick. I just planted all my peppers 2 weeks ago from inside.

Good soil and good fertilizer. I fertilize once a week with neptunes harvest fish emulsion and cal-mag

Very cool, what brand and what machine do you have? What machine would you recommend now that you have hands on experience with this? Been thinking about getting one.

I have a Harvest Right Pro Medium size. The pro is newest model with heavier duty parts and comes with premier pump.   Harvest right has been great and gave me a bunch of free accessories for being patient during the 3 week back order

This is a good video that describes the different in models.  So far no complaints

  5. You can freeze dry raw eggs. Crack them in a bowl, whisk them together, pour into trays and freeze dry. When done put in a food processor and pulverize them into a powder and store. 2 tbsp of egg powder equals 1 egg. Rehydrate at equal parts egg/water. For instance if you wanted a 3 egg omelette, put 6 tbsp of powder and 6 tbsp of water in a bowl. It will turn back into a regular looking egg and you wouldn’t even know its freeze dried.  Then cook it.

  6. These machines keep getting better and less expensive as time goes on.  I just did 3 dozen eggs from our hens the other day.  Yesterday honey crisp apples were on sale for $0.88 /lb so I did 12 lbs of apples. The best thing about FD is we now only buy stuff that’s a great deal on sale and FD it.  Saves fridge space too.

Longer term storage kept in mylar bags, everyday stuff kept in quart jars in pantry.

You drew in the bonus pass. 40 tags are in the bonus. Up to 10% could be non-res. It doesn't mean 10% have to be non-res.

For me choice 1 is always a long shot. Choice 2 is what I actually want, assuming I don't have enough points to draw either tag in the bonus pass.

The problem with that though is if Choice 1 is above your point level, but Choice 2 you have enough bonus points for, you will always draw Choice 2. For a chance to hit a long shot for Choice 1, both choices need to be outside of the bonus pass 1-2 points.

If either tag in Choice 1 or 2 is a guaranteed draw you will always draw that tag.

This year I had 4 points. Choice 1 was approx a 13 point draw. Choice 2 was approx 5-6 points. We drew the 2nd choice in the lottery draw.

If you draw in the lottery draw after the bonus, when your app gets pulled they look at Choice 1. If Choice 1 has tags left, you get them. If not they look at choice 2. If you they have choice 2 tags left you get them. If not they put you back in the 3-5 draw which basically means you won't get a tag unless choice 3-5 has a really easy to draw option like a limited opportunity type tag.

Last year, same unit, same # of tags and only 30 went to residents in bonus pass  I’m assuming this year was the same

Curtis, Bonus pass is 20% so would be tag 1-40. Looks like you drew in the bonus pass.

Yeah that may be…. I think though the first 30 are resident and 10 to non res for 40 total?  If I understand it correctly, 10% go to non res (5% bonus pass and 5% random)?  If you look at 2023, there were also 200 tags and only 30 went to residents in bonus pass.
