You know, at first I just laughed it of with the others in our group. It was my uncle's comment to me about hearing one of the range guys telling the other about a prescribed chewing that just topped it off for me. I do not consider any generation better or worse, and thus won't judge this as a generation thing. I like the way the place is setup, and having a clean place to shoot is awesome. I too have been out to the places in the rual areas and see the waste that is left behind. My 7 year old son has often times come along to shoot and has asked me about the mess. Teaching the future generations is a great responsability and teaching him to be a good steward is troublesome when you see the places Blade53 described. I am glad I choose to leave him home from this trip to Usery.

I for one wil not return again as well. We were out there Christmas eve day with my grandfather and cousins. Range master turns to his buddy and asks him if he wanted to see him chew someone out, then proceeds to go off on my grandfather about leaving the clip in the pistol he had. The action was open, but he failed to remove the clip. I understand safety, and something probably needed to be said, but what the heck is this guys deal? A simple talking to would have been fine, but to go off on him was uncalled for just to show off to his buddy. I asked another person who was working there something, and he went off on me for my question. Ohkay, back off me, that was the reason I asked jackwagon. It seems to me that these rejects of the armed service have nothing better to do than show how cool they are by treating me, the PAYING public like crap. Well they lost my families buisness and I have no problem letting everyone I know how sh**ty these @ss holes are.

2011 Coues hunt, which unit?
AzHuntingAddict replied to RodinAZ's topic in Rifle hunting for Coues Deer
Honestly if you can spend time out for predator hunting, you can spend time scouting. The hunt truly is what you make of it. I was drawn for unit 27, 6 hours away. Spent one weekend scouting before the hunt, and guess what? Bust. I have learned that you need to spend a good amount of field time before the hunt. You have the rest of the season to get out and check areas out. My opinon, take it for what its worth. -

Its all about spending time in the field. The more you get out and scout, the better your hunt will be. -

Time to save the cash and get a thermal imaging camera or scope just to keep tabs on forward scouts. My hats off to you for keeping hunting alive down south, good luck this year.

I did not mean this posting to become offensive, and hope those here do not feel such. It is amazing to see how many folks have come from the gila valley. When I was a kid, I would visit my mothers side of the family often. When we came back and talked to friends about it they had no idea where Safford or Thatcher was.
-
Not really a fair comparison, both are two totally different towns with completely different offerings....... On the other hand..... Florenece is a much better place than Coolidge Agreed, Florence does have a better donut shop, well.... Coolidge does not have one so yes, Florence is better. My mother grew up in Thatcher, and I have family that still live in Safford so I had to throw that comment out. Either one hates to be compaired, kinda high school like. I always get a good laugh at it.

Holy crud, thats alot of safford folks. Wonder how many of them would get offended if I said Thatcher is cooler than Safford?

Traxxas Emaxx r/c monster truck
AzHuntingAddict replied to AzHuntingAddict's topic in Classified Ads
I put send me a pm if interested as I didn't want to clog up the forum. But I take advice as it comes. Am asking 200$ for the setup, and would do a trade like I stated. -
I have an Emaxx monster truck with remote for sale. I have upgraded wheels and tires, arms for the suspension, aluminum skid plates. I would also consider trading for a hunting bow. I just have not had the time to play with it anymore and want to move up to hunting with bows. Pm me if your interested.

info on the 158" monster shot on the Oct hunt?
AzHuntingAddict replied to AZLance's topic in Coues Deer Hunting in Arizona
I would be interested in the story as well. Our group was in 27 and I think the truck in the back right of the picture was towing a white horse trailer. The trailer had a few bails of hay on the top covered with a grey tarp. The rig was backed up from the road, so if anyone knows these guys, pass it along. We were on foot in the area and came accross nothing. It would be noce to think if we had pressed on, we may have come accross something. -

unit 27 last day success
AzHuntingAddict replied to Mossyoak's topic in Coues Deer Hunting in Arizona
Congrats! I was in unit 27 for the first 4 days and came out with nothing. Its nice to see someone with one. What area of unit 27? -
Nuff said Bill! We hunted unit 27 in the blue wilderness area and saw many roadies along the way. We hiked into the back country and enjoyed the nice clean air away from the dirt road. We came out with nothing but stories, but I am pleased to have had the chance to get out. We saw alot of people along the way, but I can not say if this was alot as this was my first deer hunt. I look forward to next year and the chance to bring home somthing, whether it be a spike or bigger, don't care either way. At first I was a little bummed that we did not see a single buck, and cursed the many does we saw, but looking back it was a freakin awesome adventure.

Unit 27 was a bust for us. Like others, we saw the animals that were not tagged for. Bummer!!
