Rancher Showdown
AzHuntingAddict replied to azshtr's topic in Political Discussions related to hunting
Googled that up and got this. "The Bureau of Land Management (BLM) website (www.blm.gov) and all associated websites/pages are currently unavailable due to planned maintenance on Wednesday, April 16, 2014 starting at 8:00 PM Mountain Time until approximately Midnight Mountain Time. The total outage time should be no more than 4 hours." Maybe they are planning the raid during this time. -
Wtt or sell vortex diamondback 12x50
AzHuntingAddict replied to BackwoodsHunter's topic in Classified Ads
I have 10x50 diamondbacks I would consider trading. They weight the same as the 12x50 though. I wanted the 12x50 ones but they were out of stock when I bought them at the time. Have soft clamshell case and box. -
Age 9 I think is the minimum age, and I think you can go through it with a neice or nephew as long as the legal gaurdian signs.

Out riding the bikes with the kids and rode by this truck in my subdivision and noticed the CWT sticker on the back glass. Have seen this truck around for a few months with a personalized conserving wildlife plate. Won't post up the plate as I think people like privacy. Glad to have a fellow hunter in the neighborhood.

If you think everyone should get a participation ribbon........... Sometimes you just need to be honest and let people know the truth.

You might be a D-bag if your sagging your skinny jeans! I dont get those either, personaly I dont like the boys all pinched up.
-
Your a D-Bag if you wear affliction t-shirts and your a slob. Your a D-Bag if you take a duce in a ground blind you find.

I wondered the same thing you did and called game and fish, they said there was a cut off date for those that would apply for upcomming hunts. We got into a class last year (middle of may) and were the last class that would apply the hunter education point to the fall deer hunt app.

First off, getting a professional is the way to go, but if someone wanted to try it themselves they could figure the layout themselves. Go outside and look along the foundation wall. Most post tension homes have that portion of the post tension cables above the ground line. You will see the cups or cable access points along the foundation wall, they may be filled in but you can see a difference in color. You could measure them off and map them out. Honestly, its not worth the trouble doing it yourself. -
Cool stuff. I just use GE with the USGS topo overlays from a google earth library. Going to check your stuff out. http://www.gelib.com/usgs-topographic-maps-2.htm

whats the best shooting app for droids?
AzHuntingAddict replied to Antler assassin's topic in Long Range Shooting
I use Strelok+ and love it. It has the scope reticle view and will show you the data based off of your scope setup. I have the Vortex scopes and it has them loaded into the app. -
Saw the multi-color sticker on the back glass on a ford pickup today parked up off the road at oracle junction as we were leaving unit 33. Hope yall had some success.

I would post up but I lost my plane and camera to an equipment failure. Its a sad thing to watch your aircraft and camera spin to the ground. Footage did not make the impact. Keep the quadcopter on short missions for awhile, and stay away from parking areas or the neighborhoods......dont ask me why.

Was there at 1:30 this afternoon and saw it. Maybe an employee? Only one other couple was in the store besides us.

This is not for the faint of heart as these systems can be pricey. I have been flying helicopters and planes for sometime and have always wanted to get the quad-copter. They seem to be a little bit more forgiving and stable to carry a camera. Amanda your going to love the F.P.V system and it will show with the product you get in video. I have seen setups where two people operate the system, one to fly and one to work a gimbal. Cant wait to see your next video.

Picked up my non permit archery deer tag at the g&f office in mesa this morning and it was the same type you get for rifle. Curious to see the paper tag everyone is talking about. -
Wife got me a ground blind for Christmas, but I have no idea on where to start using one. Are there any tips and tricks to be succesful in using a ground blind? Is there anything I need to do to it like spray it down with scent killer or weather proof it? Also got a moving blanket to to use as a floor to keep things quite.

Using a ground blind, need advice

Does it kill the deal to place it that morning instead of having it out for days before? Dont want someone to snake it from me. I have seen posts about a sheen that some have, how do you keep that sheen off from it? Is it overkill to throw a camo netting over it too? -
**thx game and fish for the convenience of 1 tag purchase location

Good hunting for the select few that got the OTC tags already then. Just printed my 2014 license, and will have to wait to get my archery OTC tag till next week. Bummer -
What is the average height from shoulder to brisket on a coues? I have heard anywere from 18" to 22". I am taking my son out for his first big game hunt in a few weeks. I have been working with him on shooting and sighting for some time now. I am putting together a index card for ranging using a BDC reticle like how a mildot works. Here is an example. I figured this group here was the best place to ask. Cheers.

So what do you all have planned for dinner?! Mind if we stroll by?
-
6 days and counting! The son and I cant wait to hit the hills. Looks like it will cool down a little for us too.
-
I dont have a long range rangefinder, just the archery 100 yard one. Was hoping to use the mil dot feature, but need to have an average to use as a known target height. How big was your buck you just took bstpeter?
-
Vortex Diamondback BDC.
-
My coues buck a couple of years ago was a small one so the only average I have is that one. Just looking to make the hunt for my boys as fun as it can be, and with an ineractive kind of thing it always helps. I need to pick up Tony's book.
