Anybody in the east valley or florence/coolidge/casa grande area have 6.5 prc go no-go gauges I could borrow? I've got a pre fit barrel that should be here in the next couple of days and was hoping to avoid buying gauges for a one time use.

I hadn't really hunted the last two January's but I got out to the 37's this January and couldn't believe how many people were out there.

I think duracoat makes an air curing product that doesn't require baking. It's been over 10 years ago I bought some for a rifle but ended up using it on an aluminum archery stabilizer that I had made. I never really used the stabilizer so I can't comment on the durability but I was happy with how the finish turned out.

1:10 twist rate

Factory barrel, not sure on the twist rate. Approximately 600 rounds. I was getting sub 3/4" groups with berger 140's, H4831 and winchester brass. But I was new to reloading, it wouldn't suprise me if someone with experience and better equipment could shrink that.

I've had an exo for a few years and really like it but if I was going to try a new pack I'd probably get a kifaru. Had a mystery ranch and wasn't too impressed, had an eberlestock but it was too heavy, and used an outdoorsmans optics hunter for a few years but it wasn't comfortable when packing elk quarters.

I put in for a hunt that is usually a guaranteed draw and haven't had a cc hit, my dad and brother put in for the same hunt and nothing for them either. Of all my friends and family that hunt I only know 3 people that have got hit. I dont believe it's over.
