nothing wrong with your choice .260 will do the job.as long as you can hit something out to at least 300 yrds you will be fine.

i bet that was you. did you have the sicker on the tailgate of your truck or the back window? i thought i saw you in 5bs also

I was in 5bs with a cow tag I could have shot at least 4 bulls bigger than that they would not leave me alone.

I saw a cwt sticker at clints well sat norning on a blue or teal chevy. then saw another truck pulling a pop up camp trailer mon morning i was turning onto 260 and he was going toward payson.I was pulling a 5thwheel with a quad trailer behind that.

well i was in 5bs fri sat sun the wind was horrible i could do nothing to get the wind right, finally sunday afternoon the wind calm down and was more predictable. I heard a bull bugle in a draw several times so i stalked up to the area, I was within a few yards of the herd. This bull made a sound I never heard before kinda like a poping noise and heavy breathing. I almost had a shot but some guy that had a bugle call it was so bad it made me cringe needles to say it was all over. monday morning was calm and no bulges, so I sat a water hole that was in a place i thought I was wasting my time,late in the morning a heard of about five cows and a small bull were coming in so I setup for a shot, the lead cow was about 25 yards so I let one fly,after finding the arrow I confirned what i thought had happend, bad shot I hit the elk and the arrow had very little blood no blood trail it made me sick. I have practiced all summer a 25 yard shot was "fool proof" bad hand grig and bow tourqe I hit left and caused this.

buckhorn 5bs is where I have been scouting, Last weekend all i saw were cattle,I am going again this weekend to a different spot I hope to have better luck. A month ago elk everywhere, add cattle and no elk to be found a little frustrating. makes me wonder why I even waste my time scouting sometimes.This always happens to me.

I have never seen many elk around cattle is this just my experience or have you seen the same results.I was scouting 5bs last weekend and cattle were everywhere i saw 1 cow elk the whole time. So i tried to find a place with no cows I put 80 miles on the quad and no such luck. moooooew

I have that hunt also i am very excited. I just dont know why it has to be at the same time as the mule deer hunt. I was in there last year during the mule deer hunt and there was a lot of people up high in coues country. Its going to be interesting.
