i would think about a .270 and the managed recoil loads my son is 11 and thats what he shoots he only weighs about 90 pounds with $30.00 of nickels in his pockets its a very mild recoil i would recommend it.

just when was there 104,000 deer hunters in the field in az?...........never! -
that is the only problem .i have to hunt with ear muffs now or hearing dammage later. i love the gun though i would highly recommend the work on it or at least the trigger job if you can handle lots of recoil.

I got my rifle back from magnum precision, i had a muzzel brake put on and a trigger job, about 3lbs on the trigger.I shot the gun last weekend and was very impressed it kicks like a .243.good groups about 1 inch at 100yards i would highly recommend these guys for any gun mods that you have in mind.the muzzel brake is awesome CUSTUM MACHINED. it has no ports in the bottom so it wont put dirt and dust all over when fired in the field.VERY INPRESSED.

who has been scouting and what have you seen.does the dry weather keep the bucks grouped in the same area around water or will they roam.my basic question is WHOS GOING TO KILL A TOAD IN DEC. YOU HAVE TO BE EXCITED.LETS HEAR ABOUT IT.
-
good luck guys/gals i hope to see some pictures of success. have a great hunt and good luck.

Dan h those look huge!how long ago did you find them?
-
The idea is kinda good but a lota bad.Idont like the oct coues hunt because its only a few days now if it was 10 days it would be better.lets face it i cant get drawn for a dec hunt anyway but i still put in for it and hope for it but never get it.so an oct hunt would be better than staying home. its a double edge sword it cuts you anyway. its how bad do you want to bleed.

now i know what a prem archery elk tag is going to be.along with the other prem shoot.

dodger2 personal sucess is the what makes hunts more memorable. You describe your hunting trip as the trip of a lifetime. And no buck how ever big it is can add that feeling.time with dad is a wonderful thing its almost like being a kid again.I spent the weekend with my dad riding quads in unit 23 .We rode in some of the places that i go to all the time and he was excited to see some of that country. Its time very well spent. congrats

Seen the fee proposals for 2006?
ultramag replied to DesertBull's topic in Coues Deer Hunting in Arizona
I like the idea of a little increase, lets face it the tag is the cheepest part of the hunt, only if it is for more useful things like more game wardens, management tools, recruiting young hunters, understanding preditors, habitat improvements etc. i dont really care about some tad pole that lives in some creek somewhere. maybe i should care! but the thing that gets everyone going is the fact that if you want to hunt every year you have 2 choices archery and oct rifle.some people believe that the number of hunters is expanding but that is not the case 1973 = 83334 hunters for 75200 tags = deer taken =13618 1985 = 80014 hunters for 92345 tags = deer taken =23457 2004 = 90057 hunters for 36665 tags = deer taken =8552 now thats only about 10000 hunters for 31 years. what we need is some rain or something so the deer herds can grow then we can get drawn every year and the game and fish still wins they can sell more tags. but the amount of tags are at an all time low.but the costs for everything is going thru the roof. so the writing is on the wall! we are going to pay more. i dont think we are going to get hammered to the point where we cant hunt anymore.hunting is still cheap. i took the family to the movies the other day and spent 60.00 bucks i will dam sure spent 60.00 bucks for a decent deer tag heck i would spent a 100.00 just dont tell the game and fish that i said that. -
well if all the fawns i have seen survive we are going to in for a great next few years, pray for rain.
