    Settings?

When I click on a thread it takes me to the very last post. Is there a setting or something I can do to change that? Sucks if you don't follow every day than you have to sort though multiple pages to even see if the topic even interests me then page back to get back to the main forum.

Need the opinion of any AC techs

The tech should have a electronic leak detector "sniffer" I have never been a big fan of dye. In my option. If the tech needs dye he would also find oil which is counter productive. And otherwise waste of time and money to look for dye with a ultraviolet light when oil will be present.

Need the opinion of any AC techs

Leaks are a tricky deal the best thing to do is for the tech to find the leak! Then you can determine the best approach to fixing the issue. Sometimes it's is just a rubbing copper line in the condenser unit, easy fix. Sometime the indoor or outdoor coil has a leak inside the fins. These leaks are though to repair without ruining the coil. If you are a handy guy take some dish soap and a spray bottle add a little water and spray the solution onto the copper Lines anywhere and everywhere and look for big bubbles the leak most likely will show up. Freon will have to be removed in order to repair the leak. Look for oil also. 3 lbs in a year the leak Should be easy to find. If you decide to remove panels and such unplug the disconnect. Good luck.

    This one has both horns....

Well that's a Personal best isn't it? That's all you want just get one better than the last . Congrats that is a good buck especially since bigger bucks are getting scarce in that area 2400 tags a year nice bucks are going to be few and far between you did something worth being proud of
  7. I just got into reloading not to long ago so I have a few questions. I have been loading for my .270wsm using nosler accubonds with H4831sc with CCI 250 primers winchester brass. I have been getting great accuracy. I am fine with that. But the load data shows higher velocity than what I am getting by about 200fps slower or so. I have worked up in 1/2 gr increments and the velocity moves up as expected. when close to max load the accuracy drops off quite a bit.I find the most accurate load is 1 gr or lower from max. This isn't that big of an issue just curious if I am missing something? I was expecting to aleast be in the ballpark as far as velocity goes. I am getting about 3070fps with the 130. I dont see any pressure signs. does the bullet seating depth have an effect on velocity? I have a RCBS hand priming tool and have noticed that sometimes the primers press in with some slight pressure some seem like no pressure at all. I have cleaned the pockets before priming. I am concerned that the loose primer might blow out or something. any insight on this? The more I reload the more I realize how little I know about it.

    .270wsm question

No Not loading for velocity. I am just surprised, puzzeled at what the data says vs what I am seeing thats all. I am in question of the chrono telling me good numbers or not, don't know how i would prove the chrono right or wrong without have another one to compare it to.. I am on the higher end of powder charge for sure. What I am see is what you could have in just a .270. I need to shoot some factory loads though the chrono and see what velocity they are vs what the manufacture says they are..

    270 WSM load

I wish I could help. I am also searching for the right load .270wsm... I have tried h4831sc at 62gr with 140 NAB only getting 3030fps great accuracy no pressure signs at all and this shows max load. I would like to be 3200 or so. I am going to try a differant powder and see. Have you tried RL22 powder? I was thinking of trying it.

lost bull found with horns cut off

Its legal to do that as long as you wrap your archery bull tag around the antlers. But I would have a hard time doing that "stupid".. In this day and age of hunting That wouldn't surprise me at all if someone did that then say they shoot it.

  15. I don't know weather or not these people are hunters that trash the desert with make shift shooting ranges I guess it don't matter whats done is done. But I hate to see these places its a real shame. nobody cares anymore about anything. hense the reason why this has happened. I guess the important thing is when you go out and shoot pick up your mess and this won't happen.. same thing when camping if we,me,you don't clean up our trash this will happen more and more look for the days when there is no more camping in our national forests because of this type of behavior.

Whats going on in 10 this yr.

Its sad...We have some real douche bag outfitters out there. I ran into some so called guides in 5bs. same crap. they must really feed there clients some high expectations and are willing to do just about anything to put a tag on something.

    The Rut This Year

I have to respectfully disagree. The more bulls in the herd, the more competition for the cows available imo. It sure makes it more fun to hunt when a herd bull has to continually fight off satellite bulls. The bugeling gets intense. Gain jmo I agree with that as well..Its just where I have been the last few years I have seen more bulls than cows. and that should not be the case.....just saying....It might just be my luck though..

    The Rut This Year

I have noticed the last few years is the lack of cows, at least in the areas I have been hunting/scouting. I think we kill to many to balance the heard. I still see cows but its almost like the bull to cow ratio is out of wack big time, in this age of oportunity this is backwards thinking on the part of G&F. the last time I checked you need cows to produce young elk, but you don't need lots of bulls just the right amount. I see lots of bulls almost half in half. with that being said, I sometimes think that if there were more cows the rut would be better. what else would drive males crazy than a lot of females that needed to mate. If I was at a place that had only males I would not be to excited either. just my .2

    The Rut This Year

One of the biggest reasons they stop being vocal is because of the hunting pressure. The biggest bulls will be easier to kill before they "cow" up but the rutting action/activity will be more consistent later in the hunt. Good luck. Yep hunters walk around and toot there calls non stop. They don't realize sometimes they are saying to the elk "here I am a human with a bow trying to get you" sometimes it works sometimes it don't the elk will usually tell you what to do.you just have to listen to them.

    The Rut This Year

To early to tell just yet we need some cooler temps and more rain to get them going good. The rut is cool awesome when its on, but being a bow hunter the season is just to early in my mind, find a good water source and plan on being sitting for many hours. the rut is sometimes overrated because the big bulls have many eyes around when the rut is kicking in good but pre rut those big bulls are alone and just waiting for the right smell in the air. pre rut is a good time to kill a big bull they are also more predictable during this time as weel. but just as anything there are no rules to this game we love to play. good luck
  24. So last winter I had my rifle zero at 200 yards and was getting great groups, everything was good. So now I pull the rifle out and shoot the same ammo at the same distance 200yrds now I am 8 inchs low? Every year it seems like I go though this. What would cause this? would temp humidity cause such a big change? this is driving me crazy I want to have confidence that this rifle can hit something but I have to mess with it everytime to get it back on zero. The gun is a rem m700.270WSM HS stock, luepold VXL 4.5-14. when I do get it shooting it drives tacks. but if its gets put in the safe it throws the zero off. any ideas. thanks

    What broadhead do you use?

I am shooting the slick tricks they seem to fly good for me. I was using the rocket steelheads and have no compliants from these but I am trying to get away from the expandable heads. I cannot get the muzzy heads to fly good They are tough as nails and can kill a pickup truck I you hit it right but can't gey them to fly staight. I have done lots of tunning with my bow with no luck i think it might be the speed but some people get good arrow flight. who knows. montec is the other head I am considering.
