Traveler replied to gr8fuldoug's topic in Contests and Giveaways!
It is nice to be on a winners list. Thanks Doug!!! Looking forward to trying out the scope -
Tough this year in my spots. Small coveys. Flushing wild. Appears to be a lot of veterans and not many youngsters.

Thanks for this. I plagiarized the majority of your comments and included it in mine. Dan

Agree This gadget save my Antelope bowhunt this year after I broke my wrist. - http://www.riparchery.com/ not sure if will work for your nephew, hopefully it was his release arm and not his bow arm. I set mine up and was shooting very good in a few hours right before my hunt with no issues. I had to have one overnighted to me. There are videos on their site of others shooting with full cast on their release arm.

Hunting boots: what's good and what isn't?
Traveler replied to CouesSlayer77's topic in Rifle hunting for Coues Deer
I am a big fan of European brand boots. (They have been climbing the Alps for a long time.) I went through 4-5 pair of Danner's before switching to Han Wag and Meindl. Cost per mile they are less expensive than Danner. I hear good things about Kennetrek and Crispi's as well but have not used them personally. Good luck Dan -
Great report on a great day! I wonder if the wind today will mess it very much? Thanks again for sharing and congratulations on a great Elk tag

For those of you that have never killed an Antelope I would suggest you start putting in for Wyoming. In 2 to 3 years you can draw a very good unit and see more antelope in a few days than you will see in 5 years in AZ. After you kill a nice seventy something incher in WY you can relax a little more and enjoy your AZ hunt while you shop for a 80+ incher . You may never draw another AZ tag if you are over 40 so it is becoming a once in lifetime tag for a lot of folks. I would also put in for New Mexico, the odds are bad but you have just as good a chance as anyone else of drawing. Good Luck Dan

Hey get out of my honey hole in 24A!!!! I have been there. amazing the "desert" pockets that are uninhabited sometimes. I have spots that seem to dry up occasionally and then turn on again a few years later. I think predators also cause this as well sometimes. I am a big believer in 1 weather impacting movement 2 Moon cycles (but to a much lesser extent than weather) triggering movement Good luck on your next trip. Tomorrow looks like lousy weather so I am glad you were able to get out today.

Thanks for your experience with these. When buying 2 pairs of binos it was very hard deciding which two to get. The 12*50 option makes it even harder.

Very Cool! Sad we need that.

Thanks for sharing this info! It makes me more optimistic for the stream recovery in the area. Dan
