Awesome unit. They increased tags a few years ago. Will start taking a toll. Fire will only help. Can't go wrong getting an early archery tag in any of the 3 units you listed. I hunted 10 this year and had a blast. Good luck.

I bought this pack for my son. He's 14 and I learned after a few days elk hunting a couple weeks ago he's not ready for a pack like this. I have the same pack and have over 60 long days of hunting with it. I have no complaints other than I wish it came with a built-in rainfly. I love my pack.

I hunted unit 10 for elk this year. I've never seen so many 'yotes in my life. I was able to call in and kill 2 with my bow. My boy has a rifle tag in a couple weeks. We plan on taking every one we see. Glad to see so many are being harvested, but I can attest to spotting over 100 in 14 days of hunting.

I would say 31-35. I'm a 33" and it has waist straps that tighten them down. They aren't horribly loose, but I still wear a belt.

Just bought my son a sako a7 300 win mag and leupold vx3 6.5 x 20. Don't know much about rifles - just want to give my son a good set up. Now, it's time for scope rings fo this set up. What would you guys recommend? Thank you,

It's clear to me the G&F is saying anything spread out to alter the natural movement of wildlife and kill them is considered baiting with a salt exception. I read the salt exception rule as if I use water softener type salt or Deer cane type salt to entice an animal to kill him I will be illegal, however if I use a salt block or other livestock type salt products I will be legal. As a current "baiter" this law will literally eliminate thousands of my dollars each year from the AZ economy which is fine by me. I'll take my money and buy a couple out of state tags and kill a couple extra deer each year with it. I'm sure Utah and Wisconsin will appreciate it.

I leave mine out all year with no issues except when blowing snow builds up on it (rare). I only use bushnell trophy cams with lithium batteries. Good luck...

He's a lot further along than the bucks I've been seeing in unit 10 while scouting for elk. A couple of them are now 4 pts, but a month ago they were still main beams barely starting to head vertical. I saw a nice group in 6a next to I-17 almost a month ago that looked really good.

Same as others, start taking off the clothes in the morning and by noon down to just the boxers. I usually bring 4-5 black t-shirts and change into them as they start to stink. I constantly spray down with scent killer. Make sure you put up your blind for a couple days before the hunt and let it air out. I also spray the blind down really good with scent killer (inside and out). I also wash my carrying bag with my camo so it decreases as much odor as possible.

Probably where he scratches with the tip of his main beam. Looks like mud or he has worn through the thin summer coat by scratching it. Cool pics - thanks for sharing.
