    Best Elk Bugle call?

I use a small pack bugle from primos. Bugle with reed for locator bugles. Remove reed for deeper diaphram bugles. Remove the reed for diaphram cow calls through tube. Vincefmx - you need to use diaphrams calls

    Another monster coues on camera

I took the family to Payson to check cameras. This trip was going to be a little special as my 12 year old son would be checking "his" camera for the first time. He painted the moultrie camo, dug the hole for the salt lick, decided where to place the camera (with a little help from dad) and was really anxious to see what he had for pictures. Well, we get to his spot and the camera is gone. The tree is all torn up from the jerk that stole it and my son is really bummed out. Unfortunately, my old lady was with as well and I had to hear an earful from her as well... So off to the next spot where we find my camera placed 100 yards from where we found a big coues shed while elk hunting. This monster buck came in 16 days in January and I got over 100 pics of him. His g3 is weak, but he has everything else a hunter could ask for. Enjoy....

people over the past 2 years

By the looks of the bottom 4 pics you are capitolizing on a well used travel route - maybe closest place to take a dump? JK - you have a good idea and I wish more were interested in doing it. I've placed laminated signs and attached it close to other cams for people to contact me (share hunt strategy, date and time when they planned on hunting the area, etc), but never was contacted. However, I did lose a memory card for my efforts. Good luck...

    Need a rifle

ctafoya - make sure the sope is properly installed to HIS settings. This will help him find animals in the scope a lot easier. I believe you made a caliber mistake going with the .308. It simply is too much gun for a small kid and will probably make him less determined to practice. I researched this a lot when my son was 11 last year and came away with 7mm-08. Much less kick which allowed my son to put a lot of rounds through the rifle and made him comfortable at time of shot. Hope it works out great for him and good luck... "You might could kill somthin with 7-08 if you could find one with a bayonet attachment" Shot placement and bullet type is key. My son has killed 3 bulls with his 7mm-08.

sorry Brian, but that's all I have at the moment. I downloaded them onto my laptop erasing them from the memory card and then sent the laptop in to be fixed. Believe me, I want to see them again too

Good Trail Cam for Reasonable Cost

I bought 4 of the 1.3 mp wildgame cams when they first came out for $50 each. I have never had any issues other than 2 of them being stolen. I have been told the first ones were better for one reason or another. The pictures are plenty good enough. The reaction time is not the best, but if you place it correctly you will get plenty of pics. Here are a few examples:

    What's your guess?

Whale - that's definitely the same buck as your friend got on camera. Glad to see others get pics of him as well. He's a great buck for sure and everyone should see him. Seems like this was the year to get this deer as he showed up many times in the day, but unfortunately for personal reasons I was not able to hunt in Jan except with trail cameras. I got 70 pics of him as he came through 11 times during season. Last year he was a big broken up 8 pt. He made it through this January season, but he broke off that drop. Can't wait to see what he is next year. Hopefully, he is taken by a hunter so we can all admire him.

    My daughter does it again!!

HUGE congratulations to you Ana! Ernesto, I'm sure you're a proud papa. I loved the story and pics. Thanks a lot for sharing. Looks a lot like a side hill where my son and niece have killed javleina in 34a.

    Daily double

My son, Enrique, and I found a group of 10 pigs around 1pm this past Sat during the H.A.M. hunt. We had to wait them out on an opposite ridge until 2:15 for the wind to cooperated. Once the wind was steady we dropped down into the wash, removed our boots and started the stalk. My son (12) was unable to handle the thorns in his feet so I went on without him with hopes after shooting mine the herd would run down directly to him. 15 minutes later I shot my pig @ 12 yards quartering away. He died so fast the rest of the herd never spooked. I started walking around and eventually called down to my son to meet me on the ridgetop. While I sat ther barefoot removing cholla from my feet I called in a pig to 2 FEET and captured it all on video. Once Enrique arrived I showed him the footage and he said we get to get back on that herd. It didn't take long and we were on their trail. The first one I called into 17 yards, but never presented a shot for my boy. We trailed the herd and eventually wound up with a pig @ 15 yards slightly quartering away. That was all he needed as he placed a perfect arrow where it needed to be. This is Enrique's first bow kill. It's a great feeling when your kids are successful. Congrats to everyone who were successful this year - especially the youngsters.

    A quick prayer is needed

A tornado hit my family in Arkansas on New year's eve killing my grandmother and leaving my sister and her family (husband and 3 kids) homeless. Luckily, my sister and her family were here in Az visiting relatives for the holiday. They lost everything (material posessions) and unfortunately were under covered badly with their insurance. My Dad's farm is a mess and will require thousands of hrs to bring it back up to what is was. Please take a moment and say a quick prayer for my family. They need it. Thanks a lot, Wade
