We have 9 tickets left on this raffle!

I'll be traveling to Tucson and back next week (maybe Tuesday 9th; for sure the 10th) to move our daughter out of her dorm at UofA. I can bring the rifle for a quick meet up off one of the interstates.

Excellent! I've been meaning to check it out and find out when it became fishable!

We didn't drive by Big Lake, but Crescent was wide open. Lee Valley Reservoir was open in patches, but had quite a bit of ice, still. I'm guessing it will be good to go soon.

My son may have lost his billfold in Unit 1 yesterday (Sat, 4/22) on the youth hunt. The east/southeast side of Burro Mountain is the only place where we stopped so he could shed some layers and we had lunch there at my truck. I will gladly send someone an OnX pin of where we parked on a side road off the 116 and where he may have lost his billfold. There was good turkey sign in the area (none talking), so getting his billfold back is worth sharing this spot. If you plan on hunting there, will be in the area, or want a spot, please PM me your cell number and I'll text you an OnX pin. Or if you found it (last name Wooldridge), we'd greatly appreciate getting it back. His credit card and debit card will be canceled today, but he has other stuff in there he'd really like to have back. Cross posting in the turkey forum, too.

Thanks for checking today! I appreciate this greatly. I'm hoping someone else found it. Please let me know if you're in Flagstaff and I'll buy you coffee or a drink.

This got me to researching the terms. I like this article, in particular. https://www.thewalletshoppe.com/billfold-vs-wallet/ I really like this quote: "Billfold is an archaic term describing a wallet that literally “folds” bills (e.g. a traditional bifold or trifold). Wallet is a broader term, so all billfolds are wallets, but not all wallets are billfolds." I kinda like being called archaic. I grew up with the term billfold and its what I use the majority of the time. In reality, I don't care what its called. I'd just like to help my son get his money-license-HE Card-holding thing back home. I greatly appreciate Fred being willing to help!

Yep. Two subspecies here in AZ. I miss seeing those!

What can I say? I'm old school Gen-X raised by a combat-hardened Baby-Boomer. My son even called it his billfold. Guess I'm raising him right. Thanks!

Bump. My wife is traveling to Tucson April 24 and returning to Flag April 26. Could probably convince her to deliver.

Sold. PM me your offer and how to get it to you.

I've always wanted to hit the cicada hatch up there in the summer! As for guide recommendations, PRDATR, pretty much all of the ones that come up through a Google search are good. I had a good line of communication with the local places when I was working on condor issues up there. Never heard anything bad about any of the guides.

I just now realized you were in Flagstaff, too. I may have run by you. I sure hope I was a good advocate for the MTB community! I help coach the Basis MTB team every fall. We typically ride Eldon and the Fort Valley Trails, starting from Basis. That's where I'm amazed to see hunters, with how popular those areas are with hikers and mtb riders. We ran into 2-3 guys from Phx last year with the antlerless archery tag in late Oct/early Nov. They were surprised at how busy those trails were. I gave them some areas to look at in 11M, after seeing a good size herd of does right behind the Elks Lodge. I've seen some killer bucks in those areas (11M/7E) where you can get away from the hiking/biking crowd. You probably know, but I'm happy to share privately.

I've been the mountain biker rolling up on hunters on the AZT here around Flagstaff. I felt kinda bad the first couple of times, as a hunter, myself. But then I got to wondering why anyone would hunt that close to well-known, popular hiking/biking trails around Flagstaff. To be fair, though, they typically aren't from around here (most hunters know to get far away up here) so I usually give them any information I can on where to find elk and deer away from those areas. Hiking the AZT is on my list of things to do. And if you need anything when you get close to Flagstaff, don't hesitate to holler.

Ended up taking more pics of the scope out of the box.

If that's the HS Strut Undertaker, you'll be fine. I have that in my turkey gun (12g), my daughter's (20), my son's old youth gun (20g), and his new full-size turkey gun (12g) and it patterns everything excellently.

Probably because the guy running it is part of the tribal outfit that puts on HE in AZ. I'm guessing he's setting up classes up there for tribal kids, but all classes right now have to be opened for everyone statewide. He's a great guy. I don't know why none of the other instructor teams aren't setting up classes, but the 13+ feet of snow in Flagstaff has kept us from doing anything. That'll change once we get access to the NorAZ Shooting Range.

1000% correct. You get the certificate of completion of the online course. That still needs to be carried at all times during a hunt as part of the current, still ongoing waiver process for online field days. We're currently working on getting field days for online students up and running this spring/summer in Flagstaff. Keep your eyes on the AGFD HE webpage every Tuesday for classes. The instructor who typically sets up the online field days just sent an email today about a class in May, but we don't know if there will be enough instructors or not. I'm in NM that weekend turkey hunting. Once I know the exact date/time, I'll post it up in the forums so folks can keep an eye open.
