Saguaros are protected under the AZ Native Plant Law and, I believe, have the highest level of protection under that law. I'd be curious to see how putting a ladder stand on one shakes out with those protections. My guess is that it would be illegal. That doesn't mean its easily enforced when the AZ Dept of Ag, which oversees the Native Plant Law, has had its budget and personnel cut as much as any other public agency, if not more. As wildwoody, said, its definitely protected as the State Cactus.

Adult AZ blacks will go from light brown to dark brown/black (like you describe) depending on the temperature. The warmer they are, the darker the color.

PRDATR and Coffeeman, you both have Arizona black rattlesnakes (Crotalus cerberus). The one in PRDATR's photo is a neonate that doesn't appear to have shed yet. That's typically when they get more than a button for a rattle. Twin spotted (C. priceii) are only found in SE Arizona, with the Pinaleno Mts being their northernmost range. When cerbs are young, they are very grey or light brown/tan. As soon as I saw your first pic, PRDATR, I knew what it was. Wicked cool find!

Correct. Its at the Santa Cruz County Fairgrounds/Sonoita Rodeo area. Both my kids have that tag and we'll be at the camp. Since both kids have that tag, we're thinking we're going to split up to increase their odds and to give my daughter a chance to tag out early and head to her high school team mountain bike race at Fort Huachuca on Sunday. My wife will go with one kid and I'll go with the other, so we'll need a couple of good mentors.

I've never been to Bull Basin in Tucson, but I remember when the former owner up here gave it the green light. I've heard it is run as great as the BBA here in Flag. Based on the reputation of the store up here, I'd highly recommend BBA in Tucson for any and all archery needs.

I have a 12ga Mossberg 835 Ulti-mag Waterfowl addition with the wood stock that's just sitting in my safe. Its never been loaded or fired. I've had it for three or four years (don't remember exactly which year I got it) and don't see myself ever using it. Its only ever even left the safe a couple of times to reshuffle/reorganize things. I don't have the box anymore, but I have the manual and all the chokes/wrench for it, still in the plastic bag. 28" ported barrel and its chambered for 3.5" shells. I'm selling it to help fund a rifle project for my son for when he grows into a full-size rifle. And, as my son pointed out, I don't really need six 12 gauges, so this is the one to go. Its a discontinued model, but every one I've seen is going for $375+ new and over $300 used for a few. Asking $350 for it, but will entertain reasonable offers. Buyer must provide CCW or DL and sign bill of sale. With soccer, I will be in the Valley at various locations from next weekend (Feb 3) through mid-April, so I can deliver to a central location. The short answer is, yes, youth can carry and use a pistol on a HAM hunt. They just can't buy it until they're 21. My kids and I are debating on the HAM hunt because they both want to hunt with my .357 revolvers. Go for it!

I live in Flagstaff, too, and love 6B. I'm heading out of town tomorrow for my wife's monther's funeral, but holler at me and I'll point you in some whitetail spots for 6B.

That's funny, because it was a guy at Vortex that told me I should never use Loc-tite on bases or rings when I thought I was having scope troubles. I ignored him and did what I've always done because I've never had a problem with blue Loc-tite and that was the first time in all my years doing this that I've heard that.

Speaking of blue Loc-tite, I was talking to a certain scope manufacturer customer service a few months ago and they told me part of the problem I was having was because I used blue Loc-tite on all the screws. They said it affected the torque and could cause bore alignment to be way off. I've had several top-notch gunsmiths tell me to absolutely always use blue Loc-tite with every screw (bases and rings) and I've never had a problem. Has anyone else every heard of blue Loc-tite causing the problems that the optics manufacturer described? I've been meaning to ask this for quite some time and this thread reminded me of it. Plus, I figured I'd give Lance a break for our deal of unlimited questions!

First, can I print this so I can show my wife I was, in fact, correct once? 😂 I did the same thing for the same reason!

I'm trying to talk my wife into us getting it to go with ours. It doesn't have to be the companion to double them up, though, does it? I thought the companion model was only different in that it has the correct plug for 30 Amp without having to use an adapter. I'm pretty sure you can run any two Honda 2000is in parallel, companion or not.

This is what I mean, Amanda. We need to be able to keep the riff-raff at bay! 😜 It was a self-imposed time out since I was being a smarta$$ about a couple of other things. But, yes, a timeout feature is definitely not a bad option!

So does that mean I can get out of timeout since I found something helpful?

OK, so I figured out one small "gripe". When someone likes your post, it doesn't tell you who liked your post like it used to. If that's the worst that comes out of this change for me, I'll still be fully functional and the sun will still rise.

Just when I get my eyesight back from that bright white blowing up my retinas, you change it back to brown. Its kinda like when you get up to pee in middle of the night, accidentally turn on the bathroom light, and then trip over everything on your way back to bed because your eyes are all starburst. I'll go sit back in timeout...my bad. Seriously, though, I'm digging this change.
