Brian, All of the advise given so far has been great however I would also add, maybe you were shaking so bad from seeing such a big bull that you flat out missed. Maybe there is nothing wrong w/ your scope or gun. Maybe you just can's shoot very well. I'm not trying to be rude, but these could also be factors.

Rim hunter, did you take that buck that is under your name? What did he score? Good luck on that 120 inch buck. I've been hunting for quite a few years and never seen one that would score that high. Thats getting pretty close to the typical state record.

I hear that snort wheeze everytime a coues deer busts me. I figured they used it to warn others of danger. It is usually accompanied with them stomping there feet.

I hear you AZpackhorse, My wife hates that stuff. I've used the cow in heat and doe in heat scent wafers and that stench never leaves your car or in my case my mothers couch. I have always wanted to try dumping some of that doe in heat urine on a decoys rump and video tape the bucks reaction. I think a lot of hunters think about doing these little experiments but never get around to doing it. This year I am going to do it.

Hunting w/ deer urine is very effective but not what most hunters expect. The instructions and info on the back of the bottle or wafer packs makes it seem like the bucks will be running to you trying to hump you. If you do your homework, place the wafers or urine in a high traffic doe area or next to a scrape during the rut and patiently wait you might see a buck or two checking the area. If you go out and dump some urine on the ground somewhere or wear the wafers on your belt loop expecting some buck to track your down you will probably see nothing.

Bcoover, Have you had any luck locating that 125 inch buck? Here is my guess Bcoover-125 inches Rembrant-85 inches I believe in you Bcoover!! I'm sure the buck you are talking about will easily score 125 inches.

I have actually seen a bear in a cave in unit 1 during december, I was very quite and flashed him or her w/ a flashlight. I left pretty quick beacause I had no weapon. I've been told on warm days they will get out and stretch, drink some water, maybe get a bite to eat. In the lower elevation areas I have no idea wheather they hibernate or not.
