  1. definately a no no.if you place an antler restriction on deer all you will see is small bucks because now everybody will be hunting and killing the older class deer instead of some guys taking a spike or forkie.before an antler restriction is in place hunters have the opportunity to take any antlered deer.so there would be hunters that would be happy taking a smaller buck for meat.you put an antler restriction in and now all those hunters that were happy with a spike or forkie are now hunting and putting pressure on the rest of the buck population.not a good thing.inferior genetics will be passed on because all the older class bucks will be hunted up and the younger deer will be doing all the breeding.

  2. I load one up from the time I leave my truck till the time I get back.these coues deer don't give you a second chance once there spooked.I've come over saddles and down cuts to find deer wired to me or getting out of dodge and the only difference in me getting them or not was having one in the chamber ready.when your fumbling with your rifle you make noise, take time and spook deer even more.how many hunting shows have you watched where the guy gets ready to take the shot takes the safety off, pulls the trigger and the gun goes click because they never chambered a round.I think this makes a situation even more dangerous because now the hunter gets excited, starts fumbling with the gun,the friend or guide thats with them starts telling them the animals leaving and all heck can break loose.

  3. the problem with hunting over feeders is that there is no gratification or respect in taking the animal.it would be like raising a cow in a pen then taking it out to a pasture and shoot it while it was feeding on some corn.to me its all about the hunt.finding an animal, stalking up to within range and taking it.there's no excitement or challenge sitting in a stand waiting for a deer to walk up to a feeder to shoot it while it is eating.if the romans were all sitting around smoking crack all day would you be doing that as well.sorry, but i'm not into doing what the crowd and other people say i have to do.my favorite saying is "let your consience be your guide" and mine says its time to goto bed. ;)

  4. I don't care how big a deer would be under a feeder.I'd take a spike 2 miles back in the tulies before I'd shoot a boone and crockett buck under a feeder.what would you tell all your hunting buddies.what a great hunt guys!the feeder came on,out came the buck, bang!.I wouldn't be able to look any of my friends straight in the eye and say I "hunted" for a deer like that.even if the terrain is brush choked.feeding shouldn't be used as a way of getting an animal.

  5. Man, you guys have some gory stories.Almost makes me want to quit hunting and take up basketweavin'.The worst thing that happened to me was when I was 14 yrs old on my first whitetail hunt.It had rained the night before and everything was pretty slick. I was out hunting with my brothers rifle when I slipped and went head over heels on some rocks.good thing I had my brothers winchester to break my fall though.I was no worse for wear but I couldn't say the same for the gun.I had broke the stock nearly in 2 and put 2 huge gouges in it.I think if my brother was along I wouldn't be here today.
