  1. I'd have to disagree with you deerslam about a big mulie being harder to get then any other deer.you can only find coues in 3 different places AZ,NM,and old mexico. mule deer are found all across the western states and into canada. so i believe there's no way a big mulie is harder to get than a big coues.look in the record books as well and see how many b&c, p&y mule deer and coues there are.you guys shouldn't get too serious about mule deer being called carp.I've got a hard core mule deer guy at work that calls my beloved coues a dog deer because they don't grow any bigger than a large dog.he says its not worth hunting them because they don't have any meat on them.

  2. just good hearted fun.I have a great story about this one.my brother has a rancher friend who hunts nothing but carp deer.he always told my brother the same thing.he'd say "if its so easy to get a mule deer than why don't you put in and try".well the next year my brother put in for carp deer and got drawn. On the first day my brother went out and shot a monster 4x4 that stopped to look back.it was hilarious.that rancher couldn't believe his eyes when he saw the deer my brother had in the back of his truck.you have to know that my brother is a heck of a hunter and usually gets a great deer every year no matter what species he's after.I also think it's because of the terrain that mulies live in out here.its a lot easier to hunt mulies in the rolling hills and flats than it is to hunt a coues up in them high peaks.

  3. It's no fun shootin' em long distance. there's no sport in that.where's the hunt. oh, let me see, he's at 550 yards thru the rangefinder so that means 8 clicks up and aim 2 inches to the right. give me the good ol days when people actually got in close and took there game. I've taken more deer at less than 100 yds than any other distances. My 2 biggest deer were shot at 60 and 75 yds. thats when its fun, finding an animal, sneaking up close and making a good shot. :P

  4. arizona dot has 2 different license plates you can apply for. 1 is used to prove ownership and the other is if you want to make it street legal by putting lights, a horn and rearview mirror on it. a lot of people don't register or have a title for there quads so they don't ever take it to motor vehicles. I don't know what the fine is for not having a plate on or if there even is a fine. I've never heard of anyone getting a fine that i know of that has a quad.

  5. The only thing is is proving he was trying to locate elk or just out flying around. All he has to say is that he saw the elk and went in for a look at them.Unless you get them on a radio frequency telling someone there scouting there's no way to prove that they were doing anything wrong.I think az g&f or new mexico tryed to get an outfitter for doing this a while back but there was no way to prove it in court.just my dos pesos.

  6. your gonna have to walk a ways off that road. there's a lot of road hunters that drive up and down on quads during hunting season.the good part is that once you walk about 1/2 a mile from the roads you'll start seeing a lot of good deer. 2 years ago I shot a decent buck in that area after I walked in about 1 1/2 miles.most quad hunters stay near the roads and don't walk in very far so I don't mind seeing a bunch of guys riding around.
