Adding a windshield will increase the dust 1000%. You will need to find a way to leave it partially vented or a rear window like what Casey posted.

So I decided to keep this rifle. Remington 700 .308 5r mil-spec. I added the Tac21 chassis and now need a scope. I want to do somethinG along the lines of the vortex viper 6.5-20. Would the viper with mil dot reticle and turrets work for out to 800-1000 yards? Or is the HS or pst more the way to go?

Its a simple word called humility. You lack it. You are young and while thats not a bad thing. There is still alot you can learn. You go around here pounding your chest acting like you know all. People dont like that. You should want people to respect you and your opinions while also being humble and knowing when to mind your own... That is what people dont like. I just put a gen 1 magpul PRS stock on a rifle I am building. Not paying attention to the differences between the gen 1 and gen 2, I purchased a rubber but pad to install. The butt pad is only for gen 2. I called magpul as I read somewhere they sold the aluminum plates. They have since stopped selling but recommended I could find someone who could mill the plate for me.. Does anyone here in the CWT family do this that would be willing to help me out?

Looks like the hs-t is only offered in 4-16x.. Would the us be the better way to go since it will get up to 20x

So I should be good with the viper 6.5-20 with a vplex and have vortex make turrets? Or jump to HS or PST?

I more than likely will just be using this to target shoot with. Maybe some competition. Not sure yet.
