  1. Art a lion can take out a deer a week so that's fifty two deer a year from just one lion. And u must not spend to much time in the wild cuz there are lions all over the place. seen my share and get pics of them all the time. I know a guide that takes out clients to only a few units and in one year he guided forty successful hunters. And that's from one guide and one unit. I hunt the same unit he guided that in and I still see and get pics of lions every year. So do the math on what fourth lions would do to a deer herd. I have watch a few places and seen the deer population drop by huge numbers and only from one lion. Just this week I found three lion kills. So yes that lion does got to go. It will take out a lot of deer if it doesn't go. And for Coues deer they get eatin up like candy.

  2. Sweet video but man if u are looking to hunt deer in that area with three cats in it u better try and take one out cuz one cat will take out a deer a week and with three cats that's three deer a week and plus and lion is a really nice trophy

  3. All the deer I have got pics of have been around the same growth but it was the same as last year and the growth seems to explode around first of august and the buck I shot last year still had very rounded tips and was not finished growing.

  4. Thanks for the info guys and I actually just got back and again the blind was in same condition so I am pretty sure as well that the blind was just left there because no has been there for over a month now so I think it is a safe bet to think they forgot it. I have one more question. Were the person has set the blind up is right were I had cleared an area and is the only spot were u can set up a ground blind to cover all the area. I don't want to sit in his blind cuz its a piece of crap and it is very small and has holes in it now from the weather. I want to set my double bull blind up. What should I do? I don't want to cause any problems by taking his down and setting mine up. And I def do not want him to mess with my blind. Cost to much money.

  5. Derrick what up glad u joined and I did have a blast . And ya it does suck to see three lions in your hunting grounds wish I could get them out of there without having to use dogs and pay someone. Maybe we can get lucky and see the in the early morning hours and take one out

  6. I would have to agree on a few things but not all.one they do water more frequently. And I have seen mule deer get all the water they need from barrel cactus. And they do travel a lot farther the the whitetail. But as for which deer is smarter and which deer uses there senses better I would have to give it to coues deer. And baiting with corn for coues in my opinion does not work that well. Maybe for other species of whitetail but not coues.I have actually used corn and molasses mix and it has work very well for mule deer. Yes they do move alot but not all the time. I have taken pictures of same mule deer that came in everynight for the week and a half on camera I had up on the feed. Coues to me seem to key more on mineral licks than anything. But as for carp deer never heard of them. Mule deer and coues are both equally difficult to hunt but i would still have to give it to Coues deer because they get eaten by Everything and mountains lions eat them like candy and that makes them very sketchy deer that are hard to hunt.

  7. So I went up again yesterday and still the blind is there but in the same condition as it was before. Still collapsed in on itself and not upright so I decided to leave a note asking if he could contact me so we can work it out so that when he is hunting it I am not so we both could possibly have a successful hunt without either of us interrupting each other. Hopefully he calls but if I go there a few days before and blind is still in same condition and the note is still there and no call then I am def going to be sitting there opening day

  8. It really does suck though out of the past three years first sign of a person I have seen back there def put a damper on my august hunt. Had tons of pics of deer in area and was hoping to maybe put down a 100 inched that I have seen in area. Oh well maybe next year if I don't get to sit there

  9. Ya the blind is definitely sun faded and has holes in it but there has been strong winds up there so I think the holes are from recent storms. And it wasn't even standing correctly it was collapsed in on itsself. No cameras up in the area either. I was thinking someone put this cheap blind just to claim the spot and maybe is going to put something up at a later date. I don't want any problems with anyone. But u guys say it is first come first serve to the spot not who put up blind first?I hope they feel the same. I might just keep my eye on it and hunt it later in the season just to avoid conflict that is if someone is going to be sitting on it. If I go back and the blind is put back up and not collapsed in on itself I will assume someone will be sitting there

  10. Hey bonecollector do u happen to know how long it has to sit there before being considered abandoned? The looks like it has been sitting there a while maybe sense january cuz the wind knocked it down and it had someholes in it and is sun faded but it wasn't the best of blinds it was one of those pop up blinds that fold together like a sunshade for a car. Just wondering cuz I would love to sit there this august but can't at the moment. Guess I will wait tell later season to hunt it hopefully it isn't there by then

  11. So I was just wondering if there is a limit on how early u can set up a ground blind. Went to one of my spot in santa catalinas and there was a ground blind already set up in one of my spots and I went there the morning it opened up so it had to be already set up in may because it closed in june due to fire danger so that would be over three months in advanced to archery deer. And its not like u can hunt bear in that area or anything else that is in season at that time. Just wondering cuz if that is the case I might never get to hunt that spot again if u can place them up that early. Don't got the money to replace blinds if they get stolen or weather beaten. Thought there was a rule on something like that.

  12. So I just went to the Coronado national forest web page and its says the closure will be in effect tell july 31 2011 if I am reading that correctly or they could re open it if there is enough rain. Has anybody else read this? So if I am reading it right I should be able to scout at beginning of august Before archery opens up?

  13. I dont think anyone was talking about shooting anyone I think it is just a piece of mind thing not to be violent in anyway unless like u said if they walk up on someone cutting down there camera then I can maybe see there being a problem but don't think there will be any gun fire. And some cameras are much more then 100 dollars. I think they would prob just post the pics on this website and let it be known that these people are thiefs that's if they get a pic of them stealing the other camera they have set up. But to be honest if I saw someone taking one of my cameras I am sure I would be thinking about woopin some butt.Cuz I don't think I could just stand there and watch. And they def are not cheap

  14. So was looking at the Coronado national forest web page and it said it will not open tell a significant amount of rainfall? Was just wondering what that means? Or how much rain?any forest service guys out there can u answer for me? Just worried I wont get any scouting time in and cameras back up so I can find those little coues deer. We need rain

  15. My solution to people stealing my cameras(had three taken already) is I buy cheap ones that are on sale still try to find ones with good range and mega pixels I also have a few good cameras that I only put out in more remote areas but I bought some decent gauge wire and a _good pad lock that I attach to them so it will be a little harder to get but if they really want it a rock would prob still cut thru it over time. They have lock boxes but only for certain cameras and I still know people that have had them taken even in a lock box. So really there isn't a solution. A thief is a thief and they will get it if they want it.

  16. I am right there with you have not done any scouting in the Coronado due to the closures and I think I am going to change things up this year and maybe hunt some mule deer. I am pretty sure the Tonto national forest isn't closed . Coues and mule deer in most those units. My buddy lives in Vail and he is hunting in his back yard lol other than that I don't no what to tell you for hunting in Tucson sorry. Mule deer here I come if we don't get any rain in southern az

  17. I feel ya I hunt in the Coronado national forest as well and I am ready to go as soon as they open the forest back up after they get rain. We need it big time. Have not really been able to do any scouting and the season is just around the corner. Might change things up if the forest doesn't open up and start hunting for some mule deer for the august season for a change instead of hunting for those coues deer. But it might be hard cuz I am addicted to those little deer

  18. So I just bought two new weimeraner puppies. Each from a different breeder. The youngest blue puppy is already pointing and has it in him. His parents were very good bird hunters and has a good blood line. The older puppy has a good background but not much in bird hunting but the breed was made for hunting so I am sure he has it in him. I live in gilbert Arizona and have not been able to find anyone close to help with bird dog training. I don't want to send them away and have them kennelled cuz I want them to be house broken as well. I am working on general obedience right now and it is coming along good with the older one. I am using a dogtra collar which I think is the same as an e collar allready so I think that should help with bird training. Would like to maybe work something out with a trainer to were I could work with the dogs maybe twice a week or so. Any info on bird dog trainers close would help out a lot. I would love to get them started or find out what I need to do. thanks for any info. Gray puppy is named Bogen which is german for bow and blue puppy is named archerpost-5098-0-11611700-1308566259_thumb.jpg

  19. I would have to say go with the rzr diamond edge. U can adjust the draw length from twenty one inches to twenty nine inches and u can adjust the poundage from thirty to sixty pounds. Very light weight and perfect for a lady. My girlfriend has one and she shoots great and loves it. Bow is very quiet and stable.
