Ernesto is one of the best .. I always enjoyed his posts -
I stayed for the entire length of my 7E hunt and they were barely bugling the first 5-6 days and then shut up completely. We would hear about 2-3 bugles a hunt and that's if we were lucky. The funny thing though is they were bugling like crazy at night around camp, but as soon as the sun would start to rise they would cut off. Its almost like they've evolved as a species and know that they're giving themselves up .. hmmmmm

Wow guys, I completely forgot I wrote this post from my iphone in camp.. I guess the adrenaline got to my head or something Anyways, it was a clean miss unfortunately. We returned the next morning and tracked the bull for over 500 yards and didn't find a drop of blood or any other sign that I had connected. We then returned to the spot of the shot and found a nick in the branch where I'm guessing it ricocheted. I was very disappointed that at only 9 yards I wasn't able to squeeze through like 5 tiny branchs and make some sort of contact in the vitals, but the experience itself was amazing and it's hard to complain when you get to go elk hunting for 11 days. Sorry again for the delay

I write to you all from elk camp in 7E.. Tonight at about 6:20pm I took a 9-yard shot at a decent bull.. I'll tell the whole story later, but the shot was taken through a patch of juniper branches and the arrow wasn't recovered. I feel pretty confident about the shot & at 9-yards it can richochet and still make solid contact.. We're gonna give him the night to bleed out on case the shot was a little far back, but everyone say a quick little prayer that the shot was solid & the bull didn't suffer. I'll keep you all posted. Thanks, Ryan (Lookin4amonster)

That's crazy how an animal that big can just sneak up on you like that! I love how he just showed up in the frame.. How about posting the kill shot ???

Whew! There's a relief! Arnie didn't have an ear tag, just a regular, run-of-the-mill brand on his butt!

That's no tracking device!! That's the collar on my pet antelope, Arnie!!

Don't blame the deer .. maybe he's not an ambi-turner, you know, like Zoolander.

I'm sorry, me & my 8 buddies were just looking for a nice shady place to have a picnic

Looking for an hour, that's a f$%#ing joke!! In my personal opinion, if I wound an animal & can't find it, my hunt is over! Thank god it hasn't come to that yet, but I know that is how I feel.

Good work puting in all the hours necessary.. That first buck in the last set of pictures looks pretty dang good to me!
