wtb holster and belt for ruger .357

Not sure what your budget is but I recently found an Arizona company based out of Prescott. They do custom, semi custom holsters and belts. Simplyrugged.com not inexpensive, although similar to market prices. Good luck with your search.

How many animals have you harvested in Arizona

My goodness TJ, does Peg know youre a vampire?Otherwise, very impressive run on the elk tags. Hope 2014 is just as successful for you as your early pig kill.

    Leftover Units

19b is fairly limited on public land. There are grasslands but most of that is locked up and the remainder is thick juniper country. Not familiar with land access issues in 31 but I know what the country is like and it way more favorable for finding pigs. In full disclosure, I did pick up a 19b leftover general tag, and now the homework starts to find available pig country and pigs. Good luck

    2014 pig for the pops

^ that is funny! Thats a great streak of pig killing. Sounds like you guys have your herds figured out, thats more than half the battle. Congrats to your dad and thanks for sharing.
  7. I don't have one of the new tags so I can't compare. I've often wondered why Az's were so different than other states and frankly didn't like the adhesive at first. I've stuffed tags in critters ears, mouths, gambrels, and zip tied or electrical taped to horns/antlers and wherever it works to keep me legal. But I don't think it's a big deal, figure there are bigger things for me to worry about than what my tag looks like. Hopefully, once they get their system figured out, it'll be smooth sailing..at least we don't have to wear our license on our hats or jackets like some states back east... I quit buying license and tags from Walmart years ago after a clerk sold me the wrong license. Game Warden gave me a break when I got checked although I was in the wrong. Been overly concerned about it since, I always double and triple checkup tags and license now and don't buy from Walmart.

    Bad experience with Outdoorsmans

I can understand your frustration, I'd be a bit miffed myself after calling and driving. Im certainly not creating excuses for them, but maybe it was one if those days where business was dead or slow and they decided to call it a day.Every time I have visited them it was well worth my trip and enjoyable to chat about hunting or gear and they have gone above and beyond in customer service. Id hope you would give them a second chance to earn your business. Have a good New Year.

Sportsmans Mesa Optics Counter SUCKS !!!!!

Its because he doesnt have any investment in it. Go to Ross, Gila Outdoors or Outdoorsman and they will spend more than enough time with you. Prolly even have some good feedback for you regarding field experience. My .02 on the topic is that if you are looking for a pair of binos to do it all (carry all the time around your neck and glass on tripod) the 12x50 will suit that need, if you are looking for a big eyes and something you carry in your pack but put away once you start stalking or that kind then the 15's will be that for you. The 12's are a lil more variable but the 15's I see as more of a specialist optic.

Worth the wait. Nice job getting it done. Perry sounds like a good guy to have on your hunt. Ha! Thanks for sharing the hunt with us.

    Shipping processed game

I think you're right, it usually is unless it was pen or farm raised and processed for commercial sale and use. Might depend on the state though.

    Shipping processed game

I would look into freight flights. Depending on what airport and airline companies are there your friend can drop off a cooler at the freight shipping office, and you can pick it up at the freight shipping office. It will be an overnight flight but usually a 1/3 of FedEx, UPS, DHL and any other company. Usually the best deal for moving heavy items with airport availability.

Best Tripod Adapter Option for Swaro 15s

The outdoorsman is the way to go. The stud goes into your binos with a lil blue loctite and then stud slips and locks into the post, then you can screw the locking mechanism down so it is secured and not going anywhere. Hiking or moving around no binos falling on the ground. Additionally, you can quick swap out other binos if you have the stud on your other binos ( as long as they can take one of the studs- outdoorsmans makes a variety) you were glassing w 10x42 and wanted to switch to 15's it takes less than 30 seconds and you dont have to fiddle with plates or unscrew anything, just loosen the post and pop out the 10's and the 15's go right in.
  20. Incredible. Fortunate man for certain. Great picture of the line headed out. Thanks for the update Jay. Is the bow record for Rocky still 175 and change? Amazing accomplishment to kill, even more so to take such a magnificent ram with the potential to beat record.

    Duck Dynasty looses Phil Robertson

PRDATR - thanks for the heads up, I didn't see that thread. SWDesertRat - Respectfully, since you mentioned high school, do you remember those kids in high school that always went against the grain just to stand out? You know, those kids that thought they were cool by pretending to not care but really they always did and threw their two cents in whenever they could. You remind me of those kids right now, why even comment on the thread if you're just gonna be negative? We all come on this site to share and be accompanied by others who share the same interests. I'm not as into hunting in Africa as other people but you don't see me going into that thread and throwing out negative comments. No, I just keep scrolling down. So next time you have a thought like this one, don't type, scroll. "Just saying" Well you got me, wasnt trying to be negative just sharing my opinion since everyone else was tossing theirs nto the circle. Im not the type to beat around the bush and I dont take myself too seriously, but I also respect others opinions and wasnt trying to rain on them, just didnt understand all the ruckus for a tv show. From a perspective standpoint I honestly never saw that show until a family member was in the hospital recently and I watched it. I didnt see the appeal for such a following but then again I only saw an episode. i know guys that like the show and quote from it all the time but the quotes are lost on me. Where's Lark to add some insight on something like this..? I stand by my previous statement about reality tv though, I think if folks stopped feeding the beast of shows and ratings and the producers that make them less crap would end up on tv, but heck what do I know? I appreciate your opinion tho and will keep doing whatever scrolling or commenting i feel is appropriate. Thanks for reading... EDIT*** Just noticed you were the OP, I see why you posted what you posted now. My statement remains unchanged. Chilllll Winston.

    Duck Dynasty looses Phil Robertson

Respectfully...I dont give crap. The less so called 'reality tv' the better. I dont have the time or desire to watch cable tv. Does there really need to be two threads about this? Its worse than a high school rumour mill. Just sayin

    KUIU pack vs. Outdoorsman Pack

Yes. The pack was designed for this exact component. Depending on the size of your spotter you may have to strap it externally or in a zippered pocket.

    Anyone hunt Brown/Grizzly in Alaska?

+1.Unless you can talk an immediate family member (brother, sister, dad and mom...can't recall on grandparents) into moving to Alaska you'd better start saving too. In some areas, guides are booking 3 years out and most start upwards of 15K. If you are set on a brown/grizz, I'd suggest going to the Safari Club International Convention in Las Vegas in Feb 2014 or 2015 and talking to as many outfitters as you can and decide what type of hunt experience you want and which outfitter can provide it. I personally think brown/grizz has become one of the more expensive hunts in the last 10 years, at least doubling in that time frame. Dall Sheep and goat hunts are still fairly reasonable, respective to the same time frame and compared to bears. Cheaper solution is always the Alaskan black bear, DIY or guided. Inland or coastal. If you go in with one or two other hunters for DIY you might expect to pay around 2K each for everything (plus or minus depending on airfare, location, etc ) guided will run you around 3-6k depending on what options you decide on. I could be off on my estimates and others should chime in. If I had to choose between dall, bear or goat. I'd go bear because I think it the cost will only continue to climb but that's just a guess.
