we had a great weekend of coues hunting! I was able to take this once in a lifetime buck. he is 101" gross. I think I could have gone to old Mexico with the amount of gas I spent the last 4 months of scouting congrates to all those other great archery successs this past week. mike

Great points buy all. I have used 4" vanes for the 30 plus big game critters that I have harvested and have never had a problem with my combo of 100 grain muzzy with 4" vanes. I have seen a number of times when friends shoot a 2" vane mostly hunting in december and january and with blowing snow, wind or rain, shooting over 25 yards their accuracy went way down and with many missing shots. these are suppurb target shooters. My point is I would rather have a 10 per hour slower arrow and know that my set up will do the job when hunting elements change. like was said before to each there own. I would suggest trying both methods the next time we get a storm and go out a shoot a few of each and test for your self. mike

4" 4" target shooting it is ok but when you put on a broadhead, 4" vanes help stablize the extra weight. when hunting, you have thermils, wind, rain and other items to effect your arrow. good luck!

I think the point hoghntr is stating, by advertising this unit, it creates a frenzy of new hunter to a units. I look at it like this. I helped a good friend on his sheep hunt 4 years ago in 44, we were impressed with it and he took a great ram. but the next year eastman's posted an artical about a hog of a ram and high lighted that unit. If you look at the # of hunters over the last 2 years compared to the last 10 years, you could almost have the same # app for the 2 years then the last 10 years. now with all the time and money we spent getting to know this unit my chances have decreased 10 fold. now I apply for other units that have a lower applicants. I beleive as a common respect to all hunters to respect the units becouse I know many guys that spends months per year and 10's of thousands of dollars getting to know the units that they love to be in. that is why they hunt that unit, it becomes part of them! and YES WHEN THERE IS A HUGE NEW IN FLOX OF PEOPLE SWARMING A UNIT WITH ONLY THE MIND SET "THERE WAS A HUG BUCK TAKEN" IT BECOMES VERY DISHARTNING! again that is why we hunt public land but peoples nature is to follow the eye candy of the next big thing

Remember also . there is allot of us on this site that are board members of many other Az outdoor chapters and we donate allot of time and $ to all Az. outdoor groups. Like this weekend I was helping the Az elk with Wapiti weekend running a youth archery course. How do you think all of these banquits raise so much needed dollars to be able to pay for the projects? The az hunters are buying and donating needed items to them. just like others have stated. donating $ to raffle help pay for our projects. So to all that donate and spend weekends helping az wildlife. KUDO to you! -

if you are against it, send every commissioner an e-mail and let them know how you feel. only a few people show up to the rulemaking meetings and voice there opinions. -

I called back 7-8 years ago about some mulies with the same black grows. I was told by the g-f that was due to water and the drought we were having. the younger deer looked alot like the ones we called about.
