    15X binocular comparison

I'm with Red on this one. They did mention that they thought the Swaros had the best color and contrast and that the porro design of the Zeiss and Docters were more to their liking for longer periods of glassing but other then that there wasn't too much detail comparing the binos. I'd really like to see how the Zeiss did as far as edge sharpness goes. I don't recall anything being said about edge sharpness with any of the binos. On axis resolution is great but I love a nice flat FOV sharp to the edge. Good comparo non the less thanks for the link.

    10 day hunts

Good news to me. I miss having the 10 day hunts.
  5. I haven't posted much lately so I thought I'd share some of the pictures I've been able to get so far this year. These are actually stills taken from video footage so the quality isn't as good as pictures actually taken from a still camera but it's good enough for me.

    In favor of 2072

I can see how guides would be in support of 2072. Auction tags bring in people with big money and people with big money are more likely to hire a guide and are also more likely to tip well. If your a guide it makes good business since to support 2072 but just because it's good for a guide business doesn't make it good for hunting.

  8. Don't know if this has been posted yet but does anyone know the story on this buck? http://azgfd.net/photos/details.php?image_id=4872&mode=search

    when do they start dropping?

Yep seen bucks still with their antlers as late as May 16th in the southern units.
  10. One year after deer season my brother unintentionally left his mag loaded in his 6mm. The mag was left loaded for about 10 months. When he finally went to shoot it again he was having trouble getting rounds chambered. I don't know if it was due to leaving the mag loaded or not but he never had any problems like this before this so there's a good chance leaving it loaded was the cause.

    Spotter Input

I agree with westernhunter23 if money is an issue Vortex Razor HD is awesome. I had the chance to look through one the other day and I was very impressed. The only side by side comparison I've done has been with the Swaro 80mm HD, 77mm Leica APO and the 85mm Zeiss. To my eyes I couldn't really tell a difference between the 3 under normal conditions but in low light the Zeiss slightly pulled ahead of the other 2. One thing I should point out when it comes to optics one person might prefer one scope while another person might think another performs better. This was the case when I bought the Zeiss 85mm. Pretty much everyone I knew told me that nothing was better the the Swaro 80mm HD but I decided to get the Zeiss because it had a bigger objective. After doing the side by side comparison to my eyes the Zeiss came out on top over the Swaro and Leica but the owner of the Swaro liked the Swaro best. What I'd recommend to anyone looking at buying new glass is to try before you buy if at all possible. And not just in the stores but out in the field under hunting conditions. Maybe there should be an optics camp out one weekend this spring where everyone brings their glass to compare with fellow hunters glass. Should be fun and very helpful.
  15. Thanks for the comments. Sorry pixman I'm a video guy but if I ever want any stills taken I'll let you know.
  16. Finally found the time to put some video clips together from my outings in Dec and Jan. Hope you guys enjoy it. Make sure it's set to HD before watching it
  17. Thanks for the comments guys it's good to see some of you liked it. gotcoues I've never used Windows Movie Maker so I don't know for sure if you can do it with that program. The only editing program I've used has been Adobe Premiere. There are several ways to accomplish what you are describing in Adobe one of them is the same as what Elkaddict said about Roxio. I would think you should be able to do it in Windows Movie Maker because I think its one of the more basic features in an editing program I just don't know exactly how to do it.

    Camera to Catch a Thier

Guys I tell ya what ((finger point)) this camera seems purdy good and I'd tell ya why ((finger point)) but I don't have enough time to go through it all ((finger point)). I tell ya what guys just watch the video((finger point)) it will tell ya all you need to know about this camera ((finger point)) Here's why ((finger point)) cause the guy in the video that's why((finger point)). In all seriousness the features on this cam look good. Too bad the little black box only has about a 50ft range. I wonder if the box would still work if you put it in a Tupperware container and buried it or covered it up with some rocks to keep people from finding it.

Dang nice buck! Hard to tell from the vid but whats going on with his right side? Looks like he has double the mass or something compared to his other side in the spotting scope footage.
